3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear golden pour, smallish head, but nice lacing. Grassy, citrus aroma. I think Iím tasting the lime in there, and itís not something Iím really liking. Also, Iím not a big fan of the yeast. Itíll be interesting to see how it mellows...

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Golden color, with decent head and carbonation. Aroma is Belgiany and fresh. Quite a unique aroma and flavor, possibly due to the lime leaves but hard to pin down. One of the best beers Iíve ever had, and considering itís so young and should age nicely, this could develop into a truly amazing beer.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: JAN 4, 2005 AOBF 04. Bottle. Light gold, with some light green hints, yellow straw and a good firm white head. Mostly hazy, bottle conditioned. Smells of sweet pears, wheat, honey, and yeast. Nice and zesty. Flavor is thick, lightly syrupy and sweet. Honey, citrus (lemon-lime), and a decent hops kick near the end. This beer was unique in that it had mostly lighter, softer qualities to the flavors, yet when you drank it, it didnt seem light bodied or thin and there was plenty of flavor. No alcohol apparency, and a good thick body, but I canít honestly say Iím not concerned for this thing when you think about the 8 more years it is supposed to cellar. We shall see, hopefully my worries are in vain. I can definitely see this stuff aging well for at least 3 or 4 years though.

Art of Beer í04: Golden color with small tan head. Earthy pine aroma. Malty and sweet but still refreshing with a nice hop finish.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Itís a pale straw color with a thick head of tightly packed bubbles. Itís very clear and clean looking. It has an aroma very reminiscent of a Belgian ale. There is yeast, spice, and light wheat present. The taste is quite heavily spiced and that hangs around in the mouth. Itís smooth combination of malt and yeast flavor leaves and almost creamy feeling. There is also a present faint citrus taste, Iím assuming comes from the lime leaf. Itís an interesting beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. A slightly hazy golden color with a lush off-white to orange head. Strong grapefruit, yeasty, sugar, banana, and clove aroma. The high abv is noticeable, although it does not distract from the beer. The alcohol is accentuated by the dry spice. The flavor has candy, citrus, and typical belgian spices.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Golden particulate-filled body topped by big off-white head. Aroma is banana, some clove. Taste is medium sweet, banana, coriander, finishing with alcohol, giving the impression of a banana liqueur. Medium-full body. I will be curious to see how this will age, but at this point I am not overly impressed.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very pale with a golden tint, soft white foam. A confusing array of mild but distinct aromas, itís a border war between Belgium and Germany with Bannanas fighting oranges a peaches for supremacy. Medium bodied, it sarts soft and marshmallow-y then a hint of orange creeps in, followed by a subtle cherry pie flavor then some lime. Saisontripelweizen of the highest order!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hugely fruity and somewhat exotic aroma, with suggestions of banana, papaya, pear, mango, tart apple, lemon zest, hints of spices and of the kaffir lime leaf, faint pepper and more; very complex yet festive. Medium golden color, amber cast, lightly sedimented and hazy with a lush, off-white head. Flavor is sweetly malty up front, progressing to a lightly bitter and mellow spiciness before the citric, estery and faintly yeasty finish. Quite refreshing for a beer with 8.5% alc. Mouthfeel is creamy and effervescent, body is medium-full. Unique and tasty. Thanks a bunch to Emily and Jeff!
