4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Now this is how you end a tasting! Big thanks to Harry and blankboy for bringing over so many fine beers to share. Dark yellow, small white head - bubbly and frothy. Dry floral hop and perfume aroma - reading the description I guess this is unfiltered wheat and Kaffir Lime Leaf. I loved it, but I could see how it would be off putting. Wow, I can’t believe these floral and perfume notes have translated so well into the taste. Those characteristics plus some hops and wheat taste, all over a medium to light and fluffy mouthfeel. Again I really really enjoyed this beer but could see how others would not. What a unique creation I wonder how this will age. I think this is what a lot of Biere De Garde’s that I have tried have been trying to accomplish. This one succeeds tremendously where they have failed or just come up short. Well done Stone.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Had this sometime at the end of 2012, as part of a 03.03.03 - 12.12.12 tasting. I had meant to enter these a while ago while they were fresh and add a few extra details, but that didn’t happen. Review from notes. Anyway, here we go.
3.5 A: Moderately hazed medium orange color. Didn’t make much of a head.
3.5 S: Honey, lime, pepper, clove, and dog biscuit. Musty and simultaneously spicy. Smells almost like a much less old saison.
3.5 T: Tastes like the nose. A lot of lime and dog biscuit. Musty, a bit tangy, and spicy. Pepper, honey, and clove.
3.5 M: Medium body. Lightly spritzy with good moderate carbonation.
3.0 D: I wouldn’t want to drink it again, but for an old ass beer it’s not bad.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
From notes. Tasted on 12/12/12 from a capped 22oz bottle with Curtis, and the Nashville crew. Pours hazy bright orange with a minimal white head that quickly disappears. The nose is showing pretty heavy nutty oxidation, touch of banana, very malty, almost smells like a coconut curry. The flavor is very interesting, lime, coconut curry, tons of caramel malt, and banana yeast, but showing quite a bit of the same nutty oxidation from the nose. The body is medium with average carbonation and a long malty banana and curry finish.
