3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Non descript bright copper with wan, reticent head. Aroma is similar to New Belgium Loft, except stronger with the lime leaf, gloopier malts and less of the fruity complexity. Flavor is quite sweet, which doesn’t work well with the incisiveness of the lime. Bitterness levels are about right. It tastes bigger than 8.5% and the sweetness makes me whince a bit. An interesting effort, but not great.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours with a small, diminishing head; aromas of lime, clove, and banana; flavor is somewhat peppery and spicy, with notes of corriander, orange peel, perfume, citrus; presents a noticable alcoholic burn and dry finish after a sweet, slick mouthfeel. I don’t care for this one. It's just way too perfumey, and the lime leaf, though I like lime, doesn't improve a thing, flavorwise........

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(on bottle) Had this baby a bit too warm, so...Dark, clear redish-brown, with a small beige head. Sent of fried bananas and a light molasses. Has more burn, mocca, notes in flavour, big sweetness and got cloying in the end. A bit of a alcoholic finish.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Expecting something special I popped the top on this.... low and behold..... what a letdown. Pours a yellowy golden color with a moderate bubbly head. Strong floral aroma that is almost too sweet and yeasty. Flavor was plesant, mostly banana and spice with a good ammount of hop in the finish. For one of the famned Vertical Epic beers this is a dissapointment, but is drinkable and who knows, maybe in eight years will be much different.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sample at a tasting at Suttree’s. Cloudy gold with whitish head. The aroma is bland and sweetish with a hint of honey and grain. The flavor is a bland, flat honey (to rip off Shag, "honey from retarded bees") and slight seltzer. Some chalky malt notes.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle pours a slightly hazy golden, large frothy white head with so-so retention, and decent carbonation. Belgian yeast, flora, citrus, and banana in the nose. Detectable alcohol in the aroma as well. Slight fruity spiciness up front, but somewhat muttled. The Belgian yeast taste is quickly interupted with a bitter and acidic taste, result of the Kaffir Lime Leaf perhaps? By the time it finishes, I get a metallic tinge on the sides of my tongue. Respectable lacing tho. The 8.5% makes an appearance after the finish, slight warming of the throat. The aroma was unique, interesting, combining the Belgian yeastiness with a typical German Hefe, but the flavor was muttled with the Kaffir Lime Leaf (assuming). Too much going on here, each trying to battle each other, only resulting in a quasi Belgian Strong ale meets German Hefe meets tin can. Overall, I think the tin can won. Drinkable, but not all that enjoyable.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Light golden color. Aroma is a potent mix of ginger, cloves and assorted fruits. Semi-strong Abv. Very sweet, ginger is overbearing at least that’s what I’m tasting. The flavor reminds me of a mandarin hefe, in which I’m not to fond of. Dry, spicy hops dominate the finish. Not one of their best offerings. Will have it again when I have an upset stomach.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Belgian style, obvious Belgian influences, with the yeast and orange peel characters. But i tasted a lot of American style hops in here (could be wrong, i dunno). Didn’t taste particularly Belgian to me. Interesting all same. Probably have to hang on to a bottle to let in soften. A little too much alcohol showing in the finish.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Crystal Clear orange coloured body with a nice white head. Complex aroma of yeast, curacao, honeysuckle, vanilla and medicine! Medium-bodied; Strong spicey character resembling a belgie with a long medicinal aftertaste. Overall, less than I had expected, but what do you know-Stone Again!! I bought this 65 cL bottle from BevMo in Danville, California and sampled it on 30-June-2004, my 23rd birthday, although it was a less than remarkable beer for such an occassion.
