APPEARANCE: Dark brown to black with a tan head. AROMA: Fruity, phenolic yeast notes with dark malt roastiness. FLAVOR: Clove, smooth roasted malt, mild spiciness, and some hop bitterness. A dry finish with apparent alcohol. PALATE: Medium to full-bodied, good carbonation…no astringency. OVERALL: Very full and complex…not sure how it will develop.

Thanks to foureyedgeek for sharing this one! Nice port wine nose, raisins, bit of oak, heavy on brown sugar and molasses. Very sweet, with fruity hoppy nose that is very fragrant but not overpowering like some of the other hoppy Stone offerings. Vinuous with soy maltiness, bit of chocolate. Dark dark brown, clear, with medium foamy lacing light-tan head. Heavy watery body with medium carbonation and some alcoholic warming. Starts sweet with a lot of maltiness, plum, red wine, oak, malt vinegar, sweet. Molasses, malty like a doppelbock. Hearty. Very little bitterness, fruity and malty. Nice dry carbonic bitterness at finish. Sweet after on the tongue. Rich and malty overall with just a bit of nutty molasses tang. Alcoholic warming.

tasted fruity yet slightly funky. I definitly tasted the clove and spiciness noted in the beers description. Not a ersonal favorite.

Tasted around its release date and around the release of 777. The 666 is a great brew. Pours like a dubbel would be all silky and mildy dark. Deep fruity esthers waft off the beer in the malty plum and raisin context. Very smooth and sublte blend of slight roast, nuts, and lots of sweet dark fruits take over the palate with each sip. Definitely has a small lingering chocolate sense. Mild finish. Been hearing this one has been tasting good...glad I saved a few!

On tap. Pours a dark brown with a large, off-white head. Great lacing. Aroma of coriander, dark malts, caramel and a bit of candi sugar. Taste is malty, coriander, some oxidation, hint of bananas, and some alcohol. Light bubbles and creamy.

Thin, dark brown pour wth decent tan colored head. Nose is arab and anis with a hint of licorice. The flavor is the same with a dry hoppy mid to finish.

From tap at Stone Bistro. Pours dark brown with an orange glare and a small lacing tan head. Spiced and slight roasted malt aroma. Fruity and mailty flavour - goes into a smooth chocolate flavour. Remains smooth and is joined by a mild spice note into the finish. Lovely.
