Too much spice for my taste, cardamom? Nice body though, too bad the heavy spice is spoiling it. Unctuous. Still a bit hot? GG (1686), NorCal, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 21, 2008 Not really sure how any of these earlier beers will hold up until 2012, but whoever has the patience to find out will have something to remember for a long time. This beer was good, but nothing great. It poured out a deep orange/gold color, clear with a small head. Tons of spices and fruity esters in this one. Clove really seemed to stand out the most prominent for me, but there were other notes of ginger, nutmeg, corriander and toffee too. Flavors are sharp with spices, there’s no denying that. Also picked up some strange vegetable-like flavors (celery?) and peppers, but perhaps they used some fennel seed the making? Interesting combonation of flavors. But as I said, not sure how tasty this will be in another 5 years or so. dalekliz (546), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 13, 2008 Bottle. Cloudy amber, with a thin white head that fades quickly. Sweet, fruity aroma, with a lot of sugary yeast, almost like apple pie. Taste is sweet and sharp, of apples and a bit of an alcohol bite. Lingering light bitterness. Tasty and very drinkable. mreusch (748), Olathe, Kansas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 9, 2008 Bomber, pours a clear golden orange with a two finger white head, minimal lace. Aroma is spice, orange peel, dried fruits and a belgian yeastiness. Flavor has less spice intensity than the aroma, but its there, along with some citrus hops, ginger, and dried fruit. A decent enough belgian interpretation by Stone, but nothing too exciting. fg8080 (37), San Diego, California, USA

Taste like oregano, ginger and been there, done that, wont drink it again. Big fan of stone but this ones not for me. Sammy (4070), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

The head was moderate and disappeared quickly. Aroma was fruity with a hint of spices. The taste was fruity with a hint of ginger and other spices. I didn’t really enjoy the combination of spices. topherh (943), Kearney, Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 1, 2008 22 oz bottle poured a cloudy golden, lots of banana and clove in the nose. Tastes of ripe fruit, cloves and spices. These haven’t been my favorite Stone offerings, but they are unique.
