ontario102 (794), Boise, Idaho, USA Oct 27, 2007 Cloves, cardamom, ginger and floral aroma; sweet and spicy, simple malt profile; somewhat yeasty and perfumey; tart, acidic finish. Don’t care for it much.
skoisirius (450), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 19, 2008 22 oz bottle tasted sometime around the end of July 2007. I rememberjust not being too WOWed by this one. No where in there did I find saisonish type flavors hitting my tongue. Now that I’ve recently had the 888...it almost seems like the 777 was practice for this years. Have not had aged yet. thickfreakness (52), Austin, Texas, USA Aug 18, 2008 Tasted on 5/1/08. Poured this one into a Unibroue tulip. It has a nice white head and the color is what I would imagine from a wit/trippel hybrid. The smell is expected from a wit with a little bit of punch. I realize this is 10 months old already but I just don’t really like this taste. I think I’m tasting some ginger and it just really isn’t pleasant to me. I also taste clove and spicy belgian yeast but the ginger taste is just ruining this for me. Overall this is my least favorite of all the Stone beers I have had. biznizness (687), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA Aug 17, 2008 Bottle from City Beer in San Francisco. I’ll be honest, this wasn’t all that good. Kind of a belgian blonde that just wasn’t tight enough. Ah well, can’t win ’em all. And, I had to leave the very cool bottle in San Fran because it wouldn’t fit in our bags. brokephibroke (34), , Colorado, USA Aug 15, 2008 Pours straw gold with a thick, diminishing rootbeer like head. Ginger, citrus yeasty bubblegum like aroma. Taste is not so good - bitter a bit, flowery a bit with ginger a bit. Palate is unremarkable, Not a good effort from one of my favorite brewers.... kyzr (909), Bozeman, Montana, USA Aug 14, 2008 Nice bright gold pour with smaller white head. Bready and yeasty sweet nose. Flavor is much the same, really sweet almost like candy. The alcohol is high, but not really noticed, can really sneak up on you.
