COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In this year’s edition we took our inspiration from two Belgian styles: Saisons and Golden Triples. As such, the Stone 07.07.07 Vertical Epic has a deep, deep golden hue and the flavor is spicy, fruity, complex and refreshing. We used four different malts, and a subtle, yet distinct, blend of Glacier and Crystal hops to get just the right balance. Then, for the complexity, we added in some exotic spices --- including ginger, cardamom, grapefruit peel, lemon peel and orange peel (the latter three acknowledging our Southern California home) --- and a special Belgian yeast strain. All in all this is yet another case of us drawing from classic Belgian influences and cavalierly making it our own...San Diego style!

Strong ginger, cardamon, citrus aromas. Almost burns the nostrils. Golden amber color with a beige head that actually lasts awhile. Medium bodied with creamy carbonation. The first impression is ginger. The second impression is ginger. Thinking about this, there is some pale or caramel hop flavor. There’s even some hop bitter. However, the ginger is helping clear the sinus. Reminds of Blandford Fly.

clear dark gold, wispy off white head rouses up big and creamy to leave drippy lace, big spicy aroma with lots of sharp ginger, big body, big sweet malt flavor, big bready yeast character, lots of spicy balance, needs a bit of age for the sweetness to mellow and blend with the spices,

sweet bright ginger and cinamon aroma, lots of sharp spicy ginger flavor, lots of thick bready sweetness that gets to be a bit much after a while but balanced by the spices, tasty for a sweet sticky mess, no telling what age will do to this beer

A: Got one of the first pours off the cask. Beautiful yellow/pale golden color, very little head. S: Very floral, spice, some fruits (but not as much as many other Belgian ales), and that familiar yeasty character. T: This is quite sweet and fruity (particularly oranges) with a mild spice and yeast flavor to it. Not too much in the way of hops. M: Medium body, not a ton of carbonation (obviously, being on cask). D: Would have enjoyed drinking from the cask all afternoon, but I was driving.

Draught at Churchkey. Pretty decent ale with light spice and medium body, interesting, but not very complex.

Bottle from Party Source, KY. Poured clear copper color with medium fizzy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Aroma was complex sweet malty yeasty. Medium body. Medium fruity flavor with medium bittersweet with small alcohol bite finish. Good brew worth trying with some age.

9/10/8/9/11/9

Botella. Hazy deep amber. Lots of ginger in the aroma, very sweet, hard to detect anything but sweet ginger, some fruit. Thick mouthfeel. Sweet ginger flavour indeed with fruity hops and spice. Too much ginger for my likings.

3rd LCRBM. Golden color. Ginger aroma. Lemon aroma and flavor. Sweet flavor in which pineapple esters are present. Disappointing.
