COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In this yearís edition we took our inspiration from two Belgian styles: Saisons and Golden Triples. As such, the Stone 07.07.07 Vertical Epic has a deep, deep golden hue and the flavor is spicy, fruity, complex and refreshing. We used four different malts, and a subtle, yet distinct, blend of Glacier and Crystal hops to get just the right balance. Then, for the complexity, we added in some exotic spices --- including ginger, cardamom, grapefruit peel, lemon peel and orange peel (the latter three acknowledging our Southern California home) --- and a special Belgian yeast strain. All in all this is yet another case of us drawing from classic Belgian influences and cavalierly making it our own...San Diego style!

Light copper or dark amber. Thin white head. Aroma is herbal and hoppy with green tea. Flavour is an apricot and peach assault. Interesting but a bit of a battle. Orange and tangerine notes at the end as well.

22 oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden-orange with a small white head that quickly disappears.

The aroma is wheaty malts with some spices and a little fruit and alcohol and some grassy hops.

The flavor is sweet malts, spices (clove, ginger) with some fruitiness. It has a grassy bitter finish. As it warms, the sweetness and ginger become a little cloying. The mouthfeel is medium and watery with low but sharp carbonation.

Overall, a decent Belgian, but not too striking to me. The blend of overwhelming flavors donít balance out really well.

bottle. pours an effervescent orangetan with a whitish head that rings and lasts. sweet lemon peel nose with a candy wurthers original note to it. spices are apparent from the get go, not sure if that is from the yeast or the added actual spices. oh yeah, the ginger and multiple peels are noticeable. too sweet, without enough to balance. alcohol dries up a bit of it in the finish, butleaves a soapy grapefruit taste i donít care for. reminds me of saison avery did. this is not one i would look for on a regular basis, maybe it will improve with time.

Provided by argo0? Clear amber body with a small off-white head, fading. The aroma is fruity, peach, banana, light bubblegum and spice. The flavor is quite sweet, medicinal, herbal, spice and cotton candy. Full sticky body is softly carbonated with a warm finish. Another underattenuated mess by Stone.

Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Clear amber, average head. Aroma of coriander and winegum. Sweet and estery, very fruity. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel and evident crystal malt character. A fairly streamlined, highly spiced beer, typical American-Belgfian style. Lots of flavours, but not so much depth. Finishes slightly stick. A drinkable beer for itís size, but it leaves me rather unimpressed. Perhaps Iím not worthy?

Pale golden beer with a thin head that reduces quickly to thin film. The aroma promises a good beer but that first taste is a big disappointment, but then I have never been a big fan of Saisonís. I will say that after finishing about half of the bottle I was able to start distinguishing the different flavors but by the time I was done my overall impression wasnít that great (rotten banannas). This is probably the first selection I have had from this brewery that I did not like.

Clear shiny amber. Light off-white head quickly fades. Yeasty and quite caramelly ale with apple-like and exotic fruit notes. Floral hops come off rather sharp in its aromas. A bit rough-edged for what it tries to be, not too aromatic outside the hops and kinda syrupy on the palate with that softest of carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a deep amber with a thin white head. The aroma is full of spices specifically pepper. We missed the ginger. The taste started spicy with a sugary background and quite sour aftertaste. As the bottle warmed the sourness subsided and this became an almost enjoyable beer. A bit disappointing coming from Stone.

Cloudy golen pour with very little head. Belgian yeast smell with some pepper. Very peppery/spicey flavor lasts throughout the taste. Some Belgian malt/yeast flavor. Low carbonation. Hopefully the pepper flavor tames over the years because itís a liitle overpowering right now not letting much else to taste.
