3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle poured into a Trappist glass. Pours crystal clear amber with a large white frothy head. The head sticks around for along time but it leaves no lacing. The aroma is of corriander, by the aroma you would think it is a wit. Taking a drink the first taste i get is some corriander, followed by the belgian yeast. There is a little caramel malt in there. For the finish there is little to no bitterness from the hops. There is a slight finish of corriander. The body is medium to full with a creamy texture and soft carbonation. Overall I was actually not impressed with this. To me it seemed to much like a wit and I wonder how it will hold up for 5 years, I bought another bottle to try at 12-12-12

Bottle thanks to Rick. Pours a cloudy orange with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong ginger, oak, booze. Medium mouthfeel with sweet fruit, citrus, ginger, oak, light boozy finish. Very good.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma’s of acidic vinegar, vanilla, barnyard funk, yeast funk, hay, oak and sweet citrus. Deep copper appearance with a two finger foam and plenty of sediment. Slightly acidic flavors of Belgian yeast, wheat, white vinegar, vanilla and funky lemon zest. Barnyard funk and some hay. Overall, very interesting brew. I feel as though some funky flavors have come through to the palate after aging for years. A rating.

22 oz bottle. Pours a hazy honey gold with a thin head. Aroma is sweet: honey, maple syrup and spice - an almost medicinal complexity. Flavor is ginger, cardamom, grapefruit, lemon peels, and has a dry-hopped quality in the finish. Notes from Stone event at Brickskeller 6/1/09.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Copper colored, light haze with some "floaties". Beige head quickly fades to little more than a beige ring at the edge of the glass. Lively effervescence. Sweet scent, like a bag of tropical fruit trail mix mixed with a kids breakfast cereal. Belgian yeast is noticeable, has that "basement" quality I love in Belgians. Still has plenty of flavor with the spices and dried fruit taking center stage. . Alcohol hidden under the layers of fruit, spice and yeast. A hint of oxidation, this one didn’t age as well as his "older brother" the 2004 I had a few weeks ago but still a nice treat.

Celebrating the Vertical Epic Series
P: Slightly hazy golden body with active carbonation and nice tight layer of white head.
S: Lots of ginger, bubblegum, fresh grass, steeped green tea, citrus peel, jasmine, cardamom, lavender and stone fruit.
T/M: Floral flavors take the lead, followed by ginger, sweet malt, spices, Belgian yeast, citrus and herbal bitterness. Crisp dry body that has creaminess and finishes with herbal bitterness.
O: Well blended spices, stone fruits and aged nice. A light crisp and spicy beer for those warmer months. This more more like a Tripel in style.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Hazy golden pour, lots of citrus and some yeast notes on the nose. Flavor is citrus peel and candied ginger with notes of honey coming through as well. This one was very drinkable, the abv was very well hidden, and the flavors were well balanced and complex. Delicious. Props to Sloth and StFun for hooking me up with this series!
