Ap. Pours a dark brown with a big creamy cap of froth. Aro. Vinous notes. Light chocolaty roast. Orange covered dark chocolate. Taste. Dry chocolate roast, winey tanins. Mouth. Medium bodied low carb. Overall: Very tasty, the wine barrel dried this a bit.

Sehr getreidiger Antrunk, zunächst wenig, dann stärker hopfig. Dabei rund und würzig malzig, Schokoladennoten, gelungene Süße. Etwas erdig, voll, minimal herb. Süffig! 13/13/12/10//12

Taste: coconut, blue cheese, capuccino, coffee, buttery, creamy, dry roasty end , very very good !!

Draught @ Moeder Lambic during the Stone vs Moeder Lambic event. Pitch black, opague with a light brown head. Smells wood, pine, chocolate, sweet and smoky. Tastes sweet, wood, bourbon and smoked. Full body, good carbo.

Draught at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas during the three day Stone Event, 16-18 september 2011. Pitch black, opaque color, nice vast beige head. Smell coffee, vanilla, caramel and wood. Taste coffee, a lot of roastyness, caramel and bitter: very nice. Good carbonation, full body.

Black pour with a rich tan head. Quick to dissipate and leaves no trace of lacing. Sweet malty aroma with some dark fruit mixed in. Peppery taste mixed with some vanilla and a bit of a caramel taste. A slight sour feeling from the aging in barrels I suppose. But a nice mixture of sweet maltiness is left behind to help out. A very good beer.

draft@Stone vs. Moeder: pitch-black with a creamy mocha head, smells like chocolate malt, cocos, sweet dark fruits & chocolate truffles, taste is dark chocolate, thick, slightly roasted malts, slightly bitter but also sweet with cane sugar, caramel, slight liquorice, chocolate syrup, chocolate pie, minor coffee, some wood, not really picking up much vinous on this one, malt & chocolate yummyness

Black color, big cheeze hole bubble light brown head. Sweet, lactic, wood scent. Sweet, vinous, oak, red wine, chocolate taste. Oak and dry roasted malty aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium high bitterness. Also some coca-cole notes in there.

Draft @ Stone vs. Moeder event, Moder Lambic, Brussels. Brune foncée, col crémeux/beige. Arôme, malt, vin rouge et fût de chêne, le vin donne un aspect de vin cuit allant dans le sens d’un excellent Porto. En bouche, saveur du vin est intense, fruitée et réchauffant au palais. Garde cet aspect fruité; raisin et vin rouge, un malt grillé avec une pointe de chocolat et en retrait une note de houblons américains. Je reviens sur ce côté de Porto car en effet, le vin rouge est réchauffant, fruité un peu sucré/caramélisé sans pour cela donner une note aigre que l’on retrouve parfois dans certains traitements de vin rouge. Le tout se mélange à merveille avec le malt.

Draught Huge, greige head over jet-black beer. Vanilla², chocolate, vanillawood, if that exists. Vanillabeans, chocolate, double (chocolate)cream. Extremely well-bodied, viscous, oily-slick. Superb vinous stout-like beer. I do not really taste the winebarrels, but that doesn’t harm it one little bit.
