Nice caramel and fruity aroma, with grapefruit, apricot, and pineapple. Sweet nose and very fruity. Dark amber clear with thin creamy head. Medium-heavy body, almost thick, with medium-light carbonation. Starts sweet with great malt flavor and a bit of caramel. Wonderful hop bitterness. Fruity. Good balance of sweet & bitter. medium watery body with sweet malty after. Orange peels. Overall, a nice balance of sweet malt and fruity bitter hoppiness, although it is just a bit too sweet. bscanlon (18), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jan 4, 2007 Had both bottle and draft. I cant wait to get my hands on more. All of the flavors in an IPA you like are in this one. Reminds me of Dogfish 90 minute but much smoother. luiss (89), Elmsford, New York, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 2, 2007 Bottle- This brew was great! Taste just like it came out fresh from the brewery. Smell is very piny, citrousy, spiced, and herbal. Taste is thick with a oaky spiced hoped flavor to it. Very well maintained with a relaxing earthy taste to it that goes down smoothly the lacing is as soapy as it gets. Leaves a taste in your mouth with a mix of bay leaves and chammomile tea with a dry finish that is not to hoppy but very malty and fresh. bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jan 2, 2007 draft stone brewery: creamy white headed pour that was thick and dense on top of a copper orange slightly hazen liquid below. nose of big fruit citrus and flowery sticky hops, pine. nice nose that deepens with fruit as the beer warms. flavors push the same characters with nice grapefruit bitterness and some sweetness. well balanced smooth and crisp. would never know its 10% except i started feeling it a bit faster. an excellent beer. brstp (201), Princeton, New Jersey, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 31, 2006 Bomber. Dark orange color, pretty fizzy, ivory head. Aroma is of pear, pine, lots and lots and lots of hops. Taste is a cornucopia of hop standbys, Mouthfeel is just this side of sticky, creamy malts, Stone really knows what they’re doing. Awesome. luvcasks (178), USA

pours a hazy burnished gold with gorgeous orange glow an medium ivory yellow mousse like head which lasts & lasts
Aroma of grapefruit pitch, sticky resin and alcohol... tangerine & floral notes as the beer warms up
Flavor is equally intense with grapefruit pith, some soft fruits (honey and pear) and a sticky resiny hop flavor followed by a sizable alcohol warmth. Good malt supporting this load of hops. Some biscuit flavors come thru as the beer warms up which allows the juiciness of the hop flavors to come through. I begin to taste some tangerine flavors as the beer warms up
Palate: Medium bodies with a slight creaminess, the medium low carbonation is perfect for me. Long lasting complex dry finish which is kept from being sticky by the creaminess
Overall: Do I have a hop leaf stuck to my teeth kind of resiny, fruity, floral hop flavor... :) an excellent double IPA, yet another winner from Stone brewing. The only thing I am not too crazy about is the amount of alcohol in the aroma and flavor.. defintely worth seeking out and ejoying in a snifter or tulip. A great homage to the hops. I would like to try it at the brewery on tap or on cask with some more dry hops Ughsmash (3999), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 30, 2006 Bomber. Poured an almost clear toffee/brown with a nice initial cap of off-white head. The nose packed a punch with alcohol fueling pear and grapefruit sweetness.. juicy and assertive. The flavor picked up grapefruit and pears first, transitioning to caramel and more aggressive alcohol and sticky notes... smooth middle leaving a prickly coating long after the finish. Heavier-bodied. Really enjoyed this one! JB175 (1662), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 29, 2006 Updated: May 27, 2007Wow - finally get to try my most sought after beer, or at least the one I searched hardest for and harassed the most Beer store owners over for the last 4-5 months. This one pours a nice reddish amber with a medium head. Aroma is a fine mix of citrus and piney hops, with some appetizing sweetness of honeyish & other malts. Taste is mega-hoppy with a wide variety of hop flavors, especially Simcoe, & lots of maega-big malts. The only surprise/slight downside is the alcohol flavor, but its hard to bitch with a brew this good. Perhaps this could benefit from a bit more time, but I could really care less. Stone has another winner here in my book!
