Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 7, 2006 (Bottle 65 cl) Clear, dark amber with a small, off-white head. Very fresh grapefruity aroma. Medium body with very sweet caramel and some lightly medicinal notes. Bittersweet finish. A bit unusual. 011206 bluevegie (2169), Perth, Australia Dec 7, 2006 Thanks to Kook! Amber orange coloured body with an off-white head. Nose was promising but a bit let down by the taste, a little plastic and a bit of tinned pineapple, still I usually like my IIPA’s and this was went down easy. Ungstrup (14758), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 6, 2006 An amber beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel and hops. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel. fly (1331), austin, Tejas, USA Dec 5, 2006 My best guess is that if I rate this high, I’ll burn in hell. That sounds pretty cool. That and pissing people off. Actually suppose that people have to care about my opinion and therein lies a massive problem. So, I didn’t find it burning with alcohol. Perhaps hot with hops, but as I was not only prepared but wanting that at the moment I got what I was looking to find. Certainly not superb nor showcasing the elegant craftsmanship that I might wish, but altogether was a Friday night beer that hit the spot. shp555 (1680), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Dec 5, 2006 Pours an amber orange color with big fluffy off white head. Very malty aroma with piney bitter hops. Mouthfeel is thick malt. Flavor is big malts and piney, grassy bitter hops. Big Bold IPA. Emil (6075), Copenhagen, Denmark Dec 5, 2006 Bottle. Amber colour with a big white head. Malty, heavy hop, pine, citrus aroma and taste. Medium to full body with a sweet finish. blankboy (3165), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 5, 2006 Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, biegaman & mds -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a slightly hazy orange-amber with an average size lasting off-white head. Very nice aroma of caramel malt, spices and a big hop medley (citrus, pine and more). Flavour has big-time hops equally balanced with lots of caramel malt along with spices and fruit -- it’s delicious! Some alcohol present but for the most part it’s quite well hidden. Medium to full bodied. Fantastic, I loved it! snoot (277), Anaheim, California, USA Dec 5, 2006 Lots of malt backbone in this one. Pours very clear, decent head for the ABV, decent lacing, decent aroma. Decent flavor...alcohol is hidden very well...but at the end of the day, it doesn’t taste like a Stone beer to me. It’s too subtle, too gentle, too balanced. If you disliked other Stone beers, give this one a shot. It may be exactly what you’re looking for.
