The flavor is sickly sweet, toffee and caramel, some grapefruit, lots of booze. Medium/full body, chewy texture with a hot finish. boto (1319), Granby, Connecticut, USA Dec 1, 2006 22oz. bomber: This one pours an amber color. There was a fair amount of an off-white head on it. Some lacing. Strong but not overpowering piney hops is the main aroma. Some grapefruit also. The taste is quite good. Medium bodied, With some malt sweetness actually coming through. The hops are potent without being overpowering, so the sweetness was a bit of a surprise. This is quite nice. Now, how can they get this into some kind of regular production?? Hildigöltur (5109), København, Denmark Dec 1, 2006 Bottled. Amber coloured. Big nice hoppy aroma with some fruitiness. Chewy hop flavour with some sweetness and quite some bitterness in the finish. Rather soft mouthfeel. Very nice. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Dec 1, 2006 Bottle. Pours a clear amber colour with a small off-white head. Fruity hoppy grapefruit aroma. Sweet malty hoppy grapefruit flavor. Burning hoppy grapefruit finish ith a long bitter aftertaste. A nice double IPA. jgd0608 (187), Zeeland, South Carolina, USA Nov 29, 2006 Bomber courtesy of Secret Santa! Pours a dark amber, with 2 fingers of creamy beige head. Smells of floral, pine, grapefruit. I’ll probably sniff this one longer than i drink it. Wow this beer looks great, head slowing going down, leaving a nice lacing around the glass. Tastes of grapefruit, Very nicely balanced, Malty, followed by a nice kick of hops, was kind of hopin for a bit more hops, but i’m not complainin. They have also hid the 10% perfectly, just the slightest hint. This is definitely, one of the finer Doulbe IPAs i’ve had, and the first of Stones beers that i’ve had, now i know, i must try them all! Thanks again Santa!! Fish (439), Kure, Japan Nov 27, 2006 Had a bottle of this courtesy of Ross. Once again, thanks, Ross. Poured a deep orange, with a slightly thicker head than the Ruination IPA (which I tried last night). It’s definitely a good bit maltier than the Ruination. The hops take more of a back seat in this beer. Which is OK. It’s actually a really nice balance. The alcohol makes a bigger appearance in this beer (again I’m comparing to the Ruination). Nice warmth there. It finishes really sweet for a I2PA. Kind of surprising choice. This is really a fantastic beer all the way around.
