Funknmilla (577), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 2, 2006 Updated: Jan 25, 2007Amber/copper color...fruity floral aroma..instantly creamy mouthfeel followed by a hoppy lingering finish...the head surely holds its own...its nice to drink a beer that leaves you wanting more...an individual whom will be un-named loved it so much they shat themselves..... starfireming (309), Richmond, Virginia, USA Nov 2, 2006 Lovely amber colour, off white head. Fabulous aroma of complex hops with the flavour being a mighty blow of hoppiness. Da-amn. grant (792), Long Beach, CA/Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Nov 2, 2006 Courtesy of DYCSoccer17. Small amounts of head. Lightly cloudy rosy brown. Aroma of cherry jello, a somewhat unpleasant "cattiness," brown sugar and ethanol. EtOH figures prominently once again in the flavor, little malt character save perhaps a few graham crackers. A slight orangey hint. Finishes with strong bitterness which is a bit rougher than I care for. stumpyiliz (3), USA does not count Nov 2, 2006 If this was available year round, i’d be just like Nicholas Cage in Leaving Las Vegas. But instead of a bottle of Vodka, I’d be chugging a bottle of Stone 10th Anniversary Ale. It has all the good characteristics of a good Imperial. Fruity aroma, Malty initial tastewith ressinny after taste. Tons of Cascade hops here. I will continually write Stone about this beer until they end up supplying it as a year round brew or seasonal Bomber. A recupe this good can not just be brewed once!! Pancakes (5), Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, USA does not count Nov 1, 2006 hoppy - citrus, grapefruit, head - creamy, color - amber, finish - long, carbonation - soft GuilTTy (527), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA Nov 1, 2006 Thanks to a recent business trip to Pasadena, I had a chance to sample this and a few other Stone ales that aren’t available in NJ. This one pours a beautiful ruddy ruby with a moonscape khaki head and lacing that practically etched the glass. Big fruity and piney aroma with hints of pepper and alcohol. The flavor was classic Stone - aggressive hops with plenty of malt to reign them in. Grapefruit, brown sugar, candy apples, caramel and BIG hops swirl, dance and battle for attention from the first sip to the last. Typically creamy and full Stone mouthfeel and a long, moderately dry but complex finish with a somewhat bracing bite of alcohol. Happy 10th Anniversary to the Brewing Arrogance! PilsnerPeter (2598), Flushing, New York, USA Nov 1, 2006 Pours a deep golden with a brownish and orangey hue, with tan head. The aroma is huge earthy hops, leafy, and lemon rind. The flavor is nice, with extremely piney hops. Huge resiny lemon-like bitterness. There’s a subtle undertone of malt, which has a cookie like quality, and caramel hints as it warms. There’s a late slap of alcohol, and the finish is dry and grapefruit like, yet it’s cleaner than I expected, considering the huge hop flavors. Has a linger of subtle sweet notes left on the palate. RAYBOY01 (1813), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 31, 2006 Stone brews great IPA’s and other hop bombs...yet this one seemed a little reserved. The coppery amber pour held a moderate white head aloft briefly. The nose was all about the hops...citrus and pine. The rich caramel malt balanced the restrained hops pretty well...and that might have been my problem I was primed for a So-Cal hop attack that never quite arrived. But very drinkable nonetheless.
