SDalkoholic (1056), Chula Vista, California, USA Aug 25, 2006 From what i remember the release date of this beer was August 21st but was in a store in the southbay as of August 24th. So thats not to bad compared to other beers being released on time. Huge hoppy and floral aroma that is very appetizing and making me salivate. This beer is a monster or should i say a little evil gargoyle. Talk about a strong punch to the tastebuds of bitterness, sweetness, and with a tad bit of the salty part on the tongue being activated too. This DIIPA is on overload with the amount of hop and a classic signature of grapefruit juice with pulp. Truly a beauty to look upon with its copperish brass color and perfect and flush topping of foam. Amazing 10th anniversary.
ChainGangGuy (1808), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jan 4, 2009 Appearance: Pours a hazed, dark amber body with a thin, fizzy, off-white head.
Smell: Fruit-scented, pithy aroma enveloped by a sweet-smelling caramel maltiness. Very minimal waft of alcohol.
Taste: Toasted caramel with a full, hearty sweetness. Earthy, fruity hop flavors of concentrated citrus and diminished pine resin that, though it’s now two years old, still provides a solid jab of bitterness that holds until the hoppy finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is, I’ll admit, a bit chewy.
Drinkability: Still delicious! Ah, my zest for life has finally returned. Stone 10th was good then and it’s good now. Some beers arrive a mess and need years upon years to morph into something decent. Some beers are fantastic fresh but die quick, painful deaths. So, it’s good to see some can stand the test of time. kiefdog (731), Tampa, Florida, USA Dec 14, 2008 On tap at Oldsmar Tap House (Tampa, FL). Pours a slightly hazy orange-yellow color with a thin white head. Aroma is very floral and hoppy with notes of sweet malt, grass, and wheat. Flavor is also very floral and hoppy with some slightly sweet, malty notes as well. Good balance between malt and hops. Generally medium to full body with a hoppy finish. fishingnet (1001), Brandon, Florida, USA Nov 30, 2008 On tap at OTH. Pours a slightly hazy copper with a one finger lasting off-white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of citrus hops, sweet malt, caramel, and a hint of pine. Taste is the same as aroma with the caramel really coming through. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate to strong amount of bitterness and very smooth alcohol. This beer has aged very nicely. Very good. markwise (450), Just North of Tampa, Florida, USA Nov 28, 2008 On Tap @ OTH Stone Release Party- It pours a copper/ orange color with a slight white head. Aroma is floral hops with a gentle piney-citrus tang. The flavor is smooth flowers, and citric pieces with pine sap. Amazing sweetness with the age it is carrying. chicagodri (668), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 27, 2008 From the bottle. Pours copper with a white head. Wish I had this when it was a little more fresh...still good aged though. Citrus hop aroma. Good flavor, with age the malt overpowers the hops. Good flavor though, and I love the bottle.
