| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 17, 2008 I have been trying this brew periodically over the last two years. It is just not hitting its stride. The citrusy hops have mellowed, it doesn’t seem as syrupy. It’s drinking remarkably well. GuilTTy (538), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 1, 2006 Thanks to a recent business trip to Pasadena, I had a chance to sample this and a few other Stone ales that aren’t available in NJ. This one pours a beautiful ruddy ruby with a moonscape khaki head and lacing that practically etched the glass. Big fruity and piney aroma with hints of pepper and alcohol. The flavor was classic Stone - aggressive hops with plenty of malt to reign them in. Grapefruit, brown sugar, candy apples, caramel and BIG hops swirl, dance and battle for attention from the first sip to the last. Typically creamy and full Stone mouthfeel and a long, moderately dry but complex finish with a somewhat bracing bite of alcohol. Happy 10th Anniversary to the Brewing Arrogance! johnadam2002 (529), Hainesport, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 2, 2007 Poured amber with creamy off white head. Strong aroma of hops, citrus, and a little pine. Flavor was way off from the aroma. No hops present in the taste. Extremely malty and full of alcohol. Illini08 (528), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 24, 2006 Shared this bottle with Duane. This is defintely a IIPA, even though the bottle only calls it an IPA. Tons of malt in this one, almost too much as the hops aren’t as pronounced as I like them to be in an IPA or IIPA. This was very tasty and very smooth. I wish we could get Stone in Champaign. smoosh (523), New Albany, Indiana, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 10, 2006 Bottle - HUGE piney nose with just a touch of citrus. A beautiful orange/amber body with a big beige head. Mouth puckeringly bitter. The bitterness lingers on the tongue forever ... almost. What a terrific beer - right in my sweet spot. Just huge and wonderful. Way to go Stone! merlin48 (522), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 16, 2007 Radiant orange body with a small offwhite head that splashes sticky lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet citrusy orange, tangerine, and mango. Full medium body is sticky and sweet in the mouth. Sweet and pulpy orange and tangerine rule the taste. Syrupy and sticky but enough balance to pull it off. Lovely. jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA
| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Sep 17, 2006 Pours light reddish golden/amber with abundant tan/amber head. Powerful aroma of sweet citrus hops, pine, and some malt characteristics. Flavor is intense citrus/floral hops, very piney, nice hint of the alcohol, and nice smoothing malts, very balanced. Full bodied palate, warming, and bitter with a hint of sweetness. Fairly unique IPA compared to others, but similar to other Stone IPA’s. That’s a good thing though. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 4, 2008 RBSG on tap. Love this IPA. Great pine smell with a nice amber color. It has a nice sharp bite, and as it warms up it starts to take on a thick, scotch(y) flavor. You can definitely taste the alcohol in this one.
