Commercial Description:
Stone 10th Anniversary IPA harkens back to our earlier Anniversary Ales, with abundant hopping at many stages of the brewing process. Appropriately, the aroma is over-the-top, with pronounced piney and resiny hop flavors combined with tropical fruit esters and more subtle notes of toasted malts and alcohol. Our Stone 10th Anniversary Ale weighs in at 10% alcohol by volume (perfect for a 10th anniversary beer), and has a little more color and malt character than our other IPAs. In addition to using the new Summit hop variety in the brewhouse to provide the powerful bitterness, we went back through our records and found some of our favorite hops over the years, and used them to flavor this brew, including Chinook, Crystal, and large doses of Simcoe in the dry-hop to provide a huge, complex, piney, fruity and floral hop character. This is a colossal beer, big in every sense: hoppy, malty, rich, and strong! Right up our alley.

The main attraction of the tasting and #1 brew.dark amber color, small off white head .Piney, citrus and apricot aroma.Very nice flavor of pine apricot and hops. The brew actually manages to come off as being fairly smooth with the hops and very tasty without being overwhelming or onesided.Outstanding brew all around and well worth have many more.

Poured a glowing amber color with a medium sized off-white head. Sweet caramel aroma with big notes of those candied pineapple chunks. Also notes of mandarins and pine. Light alcohol comes through as well. The aroma is thick and you just know this is will be big. The flavor fills the mouth with thick sweet malt as well as pineapple, citrus and piney notes. Then it covers every surface of the mouth with a crisp bitterness that finishes long and semi-dry. Full bodied and with a pleasant warmth in my chest. This is one of those beers that you can just sit with, finish off and relax for the night.

Bottle courtesy of foureyedgeek. Nice caramel and fruity aroma, with grapefruit, apricot, and pineapple. Sweet nose and very fruity. Dark amber clear with thin creamy head. Medium-heavy body, almost thick, with medium-light carbonation. Starts sweet with great malt flavor and a bit of caramel. Wonderful hop bitterness. Fruity. Good balance of sweet & bitter. medium watery body with sweet malty after. Orange peels. Overall, a nice balance of sweet malt and fruity bitter hoppiness, although it is just a bit too sweet.

Draft - Deep coppery amber, creamy off white head. Intense fresh hop nose full of pine, spruce, earth and citrus, with an underlying rich brown sugar tone. Similar in flavor with ultra hoppy notes, touches of booze, brown sugar and caramel. Full bodied, soft carbonation, dry bitter finish. Might be the best IPA they’ve done yet. Freakin rocks...

The piney aroma, sticky sweetness and full on bold mouthfeel make this what Ruination should be. Theres some oranges and honey flavors along with apricot and caramel. This beer really rocks and should be year round. No knock on Ruination but this rocks.

Bottle - HUGE piney nose with just a touch of citrus. A beautiful orange/amber body with a big beige head. Mouth puckeringly bitter. The bitterness lingers on the tongue forever ... almost. What a terrific beer - right in my sweet spot. Just huge and wonderful. Way to go Stone!

On cask at the Liar’s Bar in Mission Beach, CA. Pours a foggy orange/amber color with a thin head. The warmness really brings out the alcohol in this beer. Huge hops aroma. Piney, with some spice and citrus. Amazing taste. Heavy. Very impressed. One of the better Stone beers I have had in a while. Keep up the good work.
