There was a fair amount of an off-white head on it. Some lacing. Strong but not overpowering piney hops is the main aroma. Some grapefruit also. The taste is quite good. Medium bodied, With some malt sweetness actually coming through. The hops are potent without being overpowering, so the sweetness was a bit of a surprise. This is quite nice. Now, how can they get this into some kind of regular production?? JFGrind (1361), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA

I thought this would be an appropiate beer for rating one thousand. Crisp amber with strong malt presense and a perfect display of a 2XIPA. Cellaring would improve the beer overall but I thought it was an excellent bomber. omhper (12335), Stockholm, Sweden

Solidly malty with predominant cookie malt character covered in an abundance o fsalty graepfruity hops. Lingering really bitter finish. Pretty straight forward beer, not the most complex in the world, but quality all the way through. elnadeau (786), Laguna Niguel, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 23, 2006 I’ve had this from bottle, draft at the 10th anniversary celebration and finally double-dry-hopped from a growler available only from the brewery. Pours brown amber with a sizable head (from the growler), aroma hits pine and cirtrus hops, sweet malt. Malt profile comes through nicely, somewhat toasty sweet, providing a round mouthfeel with resinous oil hop flavors sliding on the toungue, blending well and providing a serious hop explosion in the finish, just as a heavy dose of alcohol hits. As dipa’s go this one is up there with the best, not the best, but excellent. I do wonder if it would actually be better at a lower abv, say around 8.5%, because as it is, it’s just plain lethal. kyzr (1132), Belgrade, Montana, USA

Amber pour with huge frothy crown. Flavor is rather sweet, the hops are there, but malt is more powerful. Body is full, with a nice thick finish! Loved it! | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 16, 2006 Good sized off white head of medium sized bubbles. Minimal carbonation. Awesome aroma. Juicy and succulent hops. Resinous, with some orange and a good helping of caramel malts. Color is a deep copper colored orange. Very nice hue. Big caramel malt flavor with a big alcohol presence. This brew boarders between a very hoppy BW and a big IIPA. Could use a little more hops in the flavor. Some biterness but not enough. Flavor is a little lacking in depth and the succulent juicy hops. Little bit of sweetness. Finish is warming and malty sweet. A very good big beer. Probably should be considered a IIPA but really pushes the limit. egajdzis (3645), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours out in a hazy reddish orange colour with a low, sticky white foam. Hoppy and citric aroma of grapefruit, bloodoranges with sweet resinous piney notes. Full, hoppy and bitter flavour pine-needles, grapefruit, lemon-zest and caramel. Long hoppy finish of grapefruit and wet grass with sweet undertones of caramel and bloodoranges. But the hops still dominates . Well-hiden alcohol. Great!
