4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 theisti (2820) - Leawood, Kansas, USA - APR 27, 2007UPDATED: JUL 10, 2007 Bomber. Somewhat cloudy orange yellow pour with a big white head and quite a bit of settling. Really nice to look at it. Aroma is dry grass, sopping wet citrus and malt. The malt is the initial taste, rounds out to the citrus and a bit of alcohol in the finish. Great beer, too bad it was a one time deal. This is not as crisp / clean as Ruination, but it is certainly more complex.

Bottle @ Crooked Stave ROY-G-BIV Day, courtesy of adnielsen. Thanks, I think. This thing has to be over 4 years old and boy could you taste the age on this one. Murky caramel pour with no head. Huge oxidation, cardboard, old malt and stale bread in the aroma. Taste is much the same, nasty cardboard, dirty earthy hops, and bread. Medium body with soft carbonation. If you still have one of these please drain pour it.

Bottle shared @ Crooked Stave ROY-G-BIV Day via trade with pineypower. Pours a hazy orange appearance with no head. Very malty, caramel, oxidized, cardboard, herbal aroma. Flavor is again quite malty- the hops are completely gone at this point- and has some notes of citrus and toffee. This one is long gone but it was still interesting to try.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 TEJA (1156) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - APR 12, 2013
Bottle from Systembolaget, Swoppy aroma but not resh more pungent. Strong alcoholic taste with balanced bitterness and much malty sweetness. A bitterness that lasts a long time and a huge body. A big beer but not as resh as I want my IPA’s or imp IPA’s.

Stone must be re-making this one. Had a couple of bombers recently. Interesting double IPA. Has a unique maltiness that I can’t quite place. Good beer.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 PhillyCraft (1964) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 20, 2013
Bottle a good 3-4 years back. Poured hazy orange with big head. Aromas and flavor were citrus, penny, malt, and stale pineapple. I think this was sitting on my local liquor store shelf for a good year or more.

Believe the bottle is well past it's prime. Has some funky sweet pineapple scents. Taste is some sweet citrus, some pine, pretty easy drinking with some musty notes.

For a 6 year old bottle of double IPA, not too bad at all! Aroma has fallen off for sure to some dead malts, no more hops. The flavor has stayed quite nice though, hops have fallen off but there are sweet smooth malts on the palate.

Dry hopped, malty, thick copper color, nice foam head and a bit of fruit, looks like another great seasonal from Stone. Enjoy

Pours to good head/lacing; copper-orange color. Big citrus/pine aroma. Taste - WWOOWW!! Strong hops blend together perfectly with some sweet and spicy malts leaving a taste that lingers and lingers. Some mouth and nose burning alcohol presence adds to its strength. Even with all the bold flavor, it still somehow seems amazingly smooth, as some reviewers have noted. Another remarkable effort by Stone.
