3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On draught at Petrol Station. Pours a clear dark copper color with a medium off-white head that diminishes gradually. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel, dark fruit and spices. Medium to full body with flavors of caramel malt, dark fruit, herbs and subtle chili pepper. The finish is fruity and malty, with the chili pepper all but nonexistent, possibly due to the age? Pretty good regardless.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber beer with a thin off white head on top. Aroma has loads of port and vineous characters that go with a big malty base and a rich molasses front. Flavor is very sweet, very vineous and you can defintely tell the age on this one. Very nice, full bodied and well carbonated drinking experience, I wish I had the entire series, but unfortunately I don’t...

Interesting brew. Decent malty background, caramel with quite intense spiciness, quite herbal, dried fruits, bit wood. Sweet all the way with light bitterness. Feels bit messy, but pleasant and enjoyable

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
It pours with a dark amber color that is copped by a big, foamy head. At this point, I expected the aroma to be pretty muted, and it was save for some bread, caramel, and a little bit of the chile. There is still a good hit of spice still present in the flavor, however, which provides a little punch and a little added sweetness even. The additions raise this beer from a solid, malty amber ale without seeming gimmicky. Maybe some of the character has been lost with age, but I found this beer to be quite enjoyable.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rich mahogany in colour, beige head, light lacing.
Aroma of cloves, cinnamon hearts, interesting mix.
Flavour of light spice, some light sweetness, liquorice.
Light spicy mouthfeel, med body, med carb.
Finishes with some chilies, spice.
Nice, good balance, Chili never overpowering as it’s really only noticeable at the end. Good epic ale.
