Cloudy and somewhat dark red - brown beer. Tidy pale tan head. Palate is light and a little soft. Lactose creamy malt with a little caramel - toffee underneath. Nice fruity mid - cherry and sweetish cinnamon. A mild tang and very mild heat from the chilli. Finishes tangy. A complex and unusual beer. Love the way the spice has been used to support the flavour and not dominate it. Very very drinkable.

Had this at a tasting. Couldnít taste any of the cinnamon or chilies. Like the 12.12.12 this one was just off from Stoneís normal God status.

Had it at World of Beer in Evanston IL. Pours a deep copper hue with a firm head and uneven lacing. Smells of musty hops and taste like puntang hops.

22oz bottle. A: Cherry red with a thin off-white/creme colored head. N: Cherry, iron, lavender, cinnamon, and wood. Chili peppers show up with a fruity and spicy aroma. T: Very spicy due to the adjuncts. Good level of sweetness to balance this one out. M: Moderately sticky and medium bodied. O: My favorite of the series. The spice and malt are integrated together to make for an enjoyable sipper.

Pours a murky brown color with a quickly fading tan head. Smells of deep earthy notes that I canít really pinpoint because I donít have such a sophisticated nose just yet. Perhaps some chocolate or coffee malts in the aroma as well. Taste is threefold; the bitterness hits right away but rolls on smooth - almost reminds me of the Old Guardian Barley Wine in a strange way. The bitterness fades and the taste of the peppers comes through. I didnít LOVE the taste of the peppers, but I could appreciate it for what it is. The finish is warm with the alcohol peeking through. Mouthfeel is thick and syrupy. Overall, interesting beer. I like its uniqueness, but I didnít think its features were as unique as the 12.12.12. which I think I like better.

Very nice dark and clear amber colour with a tan head, looks really good. Aroma has malts, syrup, some coffee and maybe cherries? Taste is quite special... Itís almost like cough syrup or something. A little bit bitter with syrupy sweetness. Even the texture kinda oily like that. This oneís quite different but the taste really kills it for me and I donít really find it that good.

Hazy deep copper and amber-tinted bronze coloured body with a thick, fast-dying tan head. Aroma of alcohol, chiles (naturally), caramel, toasted malt, oak and a bunch of deep earthy notes. Full-bodied; Strong spicey flavour of the chiles, canella, earthy malt, alcohol, toasted notes, oak, drying hay and some more warm chiles. Aftertaste shows a lot of depth, but nothing too pleasant - the chiles are perhaps a bit too present, the canella hits too hard and the alcohol and drying notes are way too pungent to make this moderately drinkable. Plus, add in the syrupy, viscous body and the high alcohol content AND the large format bottle and you are left with a big mess. Overall, easily one of the least favourable vertical epic beers - nothing to be happy about in this one except for one thing, they didnít make yet another of the same imperial ipa. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Oliverís Beverage in Albany, New York on 18-November-2011 for US$7.99 sampled at home in Washington on 22-August-2013.

Pours hazy red.. Smell is pepper forward, with some banana. Some bread. Taste is malty with a red pepper background that eventually takes center stage. Finish is clean. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
