Bottle sample at a Vertical Epic tasting at Mastikim. Thanks troubles/avrashi. Hazy amber. Aroma of malt, yeast, caraway bread, spices (chili pepper) and a bit of alcohol. Sweetish malty flavor with some chili peppers spiciness, caramel and a bit of fruitiness. Medium-bodied.

(bottle - 22 oz - Night of the Titans 2013) Clear orange pour with a puffy white head. Aroma has a mild vegetable hint, fresh vegetables, mixed with some herbal notes. Some mild pepper and smoke. Flavor has a bit of that peppery spice note but seems a little muted somehow. More basil and spice than anything else. Some pepper burn at the end. Not my favorite of chile beers.

Tap at Rattle n’ Hum. Beer pours a murky medium brown with close to zero carbonation. Aroma is honey sweet, offset by a touch of spicy pepper. Flavor is sweet malts, apple, cayenne. Chili or habanero flavor is notable, though not intense. A trace of heat and vanishingly bitter on the finish. Not my favorite

Bottle and draft. Clear amber pour. Spicy pepper and basil. Slight burn on the nostrils from the pepper. Habanero? Thin body pepper more present in bottle. I like it better than others but its still meh.

11.11.11 tasted on 1.29.13. Pours a hazy golden brown from the bottle with thin bubbly white head and little to no lacing. Aroma is mostly belgian yeast, but you can pick up hints of the cinnamon. Taste follows, with more spice than you would really want and a weird blend. Either this did not age well or was never really that good to start. Better on tap, pepper comes through more.

Tried on tap. Pours a dark brown color with some reddish tints. Little to no head. Aroma is malty and spicy. I think the chilies are in the aroma. Odd, I think. Taste is malty but spicy, again, there is a chili aspect to it. Not one of my favorites of the epic series. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22oz bomber. Unfiltered red-brown, Oily white/off-white head. Odd chili spice aroma. Pretty nice spiced brown ale, The cinnamon really takes over, and it is a little too sweet too session on for long. At the same time, it isn’t sticky or brutal, so it remains enjoyable. Mild chiles start to shine through in the aftertaste. An odd beer at the end of the day.

Bottle shared by cptnspeed1...thanks Brad! - Pours clear caramel color with a ring of white head. Nose is a little cinnamon with just a hint of the chiles. Sweet bready malt. Taste is sweet bread, honey and brown sugar with some cinnamon. The chiles come in on the finish, though not very pungent. Smooth and medium-thin with nice carbonation. Pretty good stuff, especially for not having any expectations.

22oz bomber poured into a tulip glass. Pours a beautiful dark amber color with a reddish hue. Nice one finger, light tan head and decent lacing. Aroma is very Belgian. Malty and sweet smelling with hints of cherry, citrus, candy, hops, chiles, and cinnamon. Taste is also candy-sweet and malty with the cinnamon and chiles coming through and blending together very nicely. Surprisingly not overwhelming or as heavy as most other Belgian Strong Ale’s I have had. The alcohol is hidden rather well, as this one is very smooth with a nice, sweet but light chile burn on the backend and malty finish. Full body, slick body that becomes a bit creamy as it warms. Carbonation is average. Very nice, easy drinking.

Pours murky amber with no head or lacing. Not getting much nose. Aromas start with some plum, then a hint of spice in the middle, finish is bitter and spicy. Tastes are medium sweet, some spice and a touch of bitter. Body is medium with some carbonation. Nice beer!
