4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
From the 22 oz bomber leftover in a tucked away bottle shop. Last one in stock. This pours a nice looking medium amber to mahogany brown with a foamy mocha head. The aroma has some pleasant caramel malt notes immediately and then the sharp peppery character kicks in. Cinnamon, Allspice and other deep spices too. The body is medium to full. The taste has a quick sweetness like the nose and then the peppery flavors roar up behind. This aged well.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from South Bay Liquor: Poured a dark amber almost medium brown hue with a frothy topping of head up top. In the aroma, a bold scent of spicy yeast takes control and lets it be known up front this is a Belgian style ale that should be paid attention to. The drink is heavy with spice and more so with a strong taste of pepper, ground cloves, and a note of the Anaheim chili peppers while the cinnamon only becomes noticeable until the finish. A decent Belgian recipe, though, I doubt this beer will hold up any years of aging.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, RBAG 2013. Orange pour with haze. Has a thin cap. Biscuit, caramel, cookies, toast and banana in the aroma. Taste has toasty notes, caramel some mild spice. Mild bitter finish and cookie notes. Did not do much for me - chile? didn’t really find that here.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle - Malty toffee nose with chili peppers. Cloudy amber with a thin head. The flavor was dominated by chili powder, which tasted like it was dumped in. I found this beer to be out of balance and almost undrinkable with the way the pepper tasted. This may be due to the age of the beer.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bright red/mahogany sort of colour, quite clear with a light head. Hot peppers and cinnamon on the nose with a really curried feel and some dark fruit in the back. Red licorice was my first impression on the palate with peppers and cinnamon. There’s just too much spice in this stuff and I think it’s the cinnamon more than the chiles. A little astringent and warm.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours hazy amber, medium brown head, some lacing. Aroma and flavor of Chile, chocolate, cinnamon, caramel, dried fruit. Medium sweet, quite spiced. A bit of orange zest. Medium body, creamy, ABV well hidden. I enjoyed this one.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Decent beer. A bit sweet. No heat at all. Anaheim chilies don't really work. Won't have again.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A quite nice, unique beer. Pours a beautiful amber red with a thick tan head. Smells great, some chili and chocolate, coriander, much more sweet then the taste. Taste is hard to describe, almost like bitter chocolate, a hint of bananas, and some heat from the chilis. Let sit for a while, and it calms down. Not as intense as many beers with chili. Very tasty! Had in the bottle.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rich and wine like nose, plenty of fruit, a nice viscosity and a little spice, a little heat. Hops carry all the flavors to the top of their game, with a funky earthy floral spicy profile. Special beer.
