Pours a burn amber color with off white head. Malt, chili, yeast and spice aroma. Yeast, chili, spice and malt flavors. Medium body and astringent chili finish. Can’t say i’m a fan.

In short: An dreadful spicy sweet copper ale of kind, gross is so many ways….
How: Bottle 22oz. Once fresh (way too spicy for me). This rating for a forgotten bottle aged in the back my cellar.
The look: Cloudy bronze body topped by a medium beige head leaving lots of lacings on the glass.
In long: Nose is on the heavy-spicy side, gingerbread man, christmas cinnamon candy can, cookies, yeasty phenols. Taste is sickeningly sweet, a lot of candi sugar, sweet cookies, strong yeast presence along with accompanied fruity flavors, strange lavender bath essence sensation, awkward spiciness. I could go on for pages, I got new weird shit at each sip, but I quickly drained poured it. The annoying hot spiciness of the fresh bottle is gone but that just makes the gross excessive sweetness even more apparent, so it is pretty much just as bad now, if not worse than a fresh hot spicy bottle. I used to have blind faith in Stone and I would buy multiple bottles of each of their new releases and anniversary beers, but after atrocities like this beer and the Belgo Anise RIS, I lost my faith. Everywhere else this beer would be called 11.11.11 Vertical Epic Ale because we don’t use the stupid mm-dd-yy American date format.

Poured a dark red brown from a bottle. Thick head with a good bit of lacing. Smell does not let on cinnamon taste and is rather boozy. Tastes like a cider and strong ale combined. Cinnamon after taste. Not bad overall.

Bottle sampled at RBSG. From notes. banana and clove. Maybe a hint of cinnamon. Not getting anything on the chilies though. Pretty good.

Bomber. Had held off on opening this one until there were enough people to share it was as the chilli description was a little worrisome for my heartburn. Amber with a red hue, off white head. Definite chilli in the aroma along with some grain, caramel, moderate carbonation and body, odd combination of sweet, heat and bitterness, did not go down easy but not too painful either.

Poured from draft at the avenue pub in New Orleans. Reddish color. Sweet and spit I think. Dank. Cherry and basement taste. Rating better for unique taste

Pours a hazy medium re with minimal head. Aroma of light spices and brown sugar - and maybe a bit of banana. Lightly sweet taste in the mouth, and the carbonation explodes in small bubbles when the beer hits the tongue. There is a bit of a sour or bitter flavor as well. Fairly heavy flavor and the beer itself feels a bit heavy in the mouth.

Cloudy and somewhat dark red - brown beer. Tidy pale tan head. Palate is light and a little soft. Lactose creamy malt with a little caramel - toffee underneath. Nice fruity mid - cherry and sweetish cinnamon. A mild tang and very mild heat from the chilli. Finishes tangy. A complex and unusual beer. Love the way the spice has been used to support the flavour and not dominate it. Very very drinkable.

Had this at a tasting. Couldn’t taste any of the cinnamon or chilies. Like the 12.12.12 this one was just off from Stone’s normal God status.
