Bright red/mahogany sort of colour, quite clear with a light head. Hot peppers and cinnamon on the nose with a really curried feel and some dark fruit in the back. Red licorice was my first impression on the palate with peppers and cinnamon. Thereís just too much spice in this stuff and I think itís the cinnamon more than the chiles. A little astringent and warm.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber, medium brown head, some lacing. Aroma and flavor of Chile, chocolate, cinnamon, caramel, dried fruit. Medium sweet, quite spiced. A bit of orange zest. Medium body, creamy, ABV well hidden. I enjoyed this one.

Decent beer. A bit sweet. No heat at all. Anaheim chilies don't really work. Won't have again.

A quite nice, unique beer. Pours a beautiful amber red with a thick tan head. Smells great, some chili and chocolate, coriander, much more sweet then the taste. Taste is hard to describe, almost like bitter chocolate, a hint of bananas, and some heat from the chilis. Let sit for a while, and it calms down. Not as intense as many beers with chili. Very tasty! Had in the bottle.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rich and wine like nose, plenty of fruit, a nice viscosity and a little spice, a little heat. Hops carry all the flavors to the top of their game, with a funky earthy floral spicy profile. Special beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from a bottle, San Diego. Strong malt aroma, with the chilies in the mix. Deep amber, discolored head. I really donít care for this one, it is a fine beer, but it is not epic in any way. The chillies are pleasant, and the flavor complex, but I just donít care for this one particularly. It is remarkably drinkable for a beer that is damned near 10%, though! I could chug this beer, or just pound it. How they managed that, I donít know. Silver linings!

Bottle at home. Deep amber, mahogany head. Aroma is sweet malt, cinnamon. Full bodied, tastes of strong cinnamon, smoky chiles, dry and well attenuated. A bit overpowering. Interesting.

Draft at Blue monk. Pours a reddish brown with an off white head that is very frothy. Sweet Aroma with brown sugar and some spice. Tastes sweet up front with a lot of brown sugar and belgian yeast. Not too spicy, but thereís definitely something going on.

Barcade, Philly tap: Pours a reddish brown with a wee head. Aroma is spice, cinnamon, fruitiness, and I didnít really detect much chillies, possibly by virtue of the fact I was eating spicy chips. Taste is sweet and kind of spicy. Body is pretty manageable. I donít know why this was on tap now of all times. I enjoyed it, but it wasnít great.
