On tap at the Blind Tiger Ale house, Manhattan 12-13-12. I was surprised that i liked this as much as i do. Sipping on it now at the BT, the cinnamon flavor is slightly more pronounced on my palate than the chiles. I do taste the chiles though as subtle as they might be. Nice lacing forming in the tulip in front of me as this delicious gem slowly slips away. A kind of Bayou mud-like appearance in the tulip...thin...difficult to say what color in the low light here. Gosh...another Stone to add to the rotation. Quite delicious. If you like flavorful beers, and Iím a big barleywine lover, you might like this. I do!

Bottle from Kihoskh. Clear brown with a lasting off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, dark malts and cinnamon. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish with a little warming alcohol. 150815

660ml bottle (thanks FatPhil). Cloudy, deep amber color. Very malty, chilly peppers, sweet, caramel in aroma. Malty, red chilly, bit of raisins, grassy hops, plums in taste. Spicy grass in aftertaste. Not so shy chilly peppers everywhere.

Bottle (shared by FatPhil, thanks!). Pours hazy amber with beige head. The head stays. Aroma is fruits, pears, caramel, malt, chili. Flavor sweet, fruits, malt, some chili. Overall: nice brew.

Poured a cloudy caramel color. Almost like a freshly pressed apple cider. There was a tall creamy dark tan head. The aroma was mostly yeast and bread. There was a hint of cinamon and some other spices. There beer itself had a thick creamy texture and a very unique flavor. There was a good amount of caramel sweetness along with some dark fruit flavors. There was a hint of cinnamon and some fall like spices, but it also had a bit of an unfiltered fresh apple cider bit of tartness. I didnít get much if any of the pepper aroma or taste. This beer was pretty interesting and I enjoyed it. It was definetely unique in flavor, but nice.

Pleasant chilli aroma. Nice deep red. Sticky malty taste. Spicy, but unbalanced. actually this is a mess. Mashy and sticky. Nope.

SmaksprÝve fra Rune. Sherryfarget. Lavt boblet skum. Aroma av sherry & mandler. Smaken diffus. TÝrket frukt med harpiks i avslutninga.

Poured from a 650ml bottle. Bubbly fawn-coloured head over a bright mahogany coloured body. Drying aroma of herbs, old books and caramel. Rather strange and unusual taste of bread, spices, wood and, in fact, beetroot joined by some jammy fruits as well. Drying end with warming alcohol. Quite well bodied. Not sure what to make of it, anyway, not a great one (TromsÝ 17.04.2015).

22 oz cellared - Iíve been sitting on this one. The time was right. Nice ale, gold color, froth. I really had no sense of the chiles or the cinnamon.

Amber body, tons of caramel, brown sugar and cinnamon spice on the nose. Lively carbonation, malty but innovative, as sweet, sugary cinnamon stick flavors pick up a blast of chili pepper as it lingers with a touch of heat and residual sweet caramel malt, banana and clove. This would be a perfect pairing with my chili recipe. Booze and spice linger.

Aroma of this beast is sweet malts with cloves and cinnamon. Thereís a yeasty tone in here but not overwhelming. The taste is like a big plate of figs, prunes, raisins and other dark fruits. Actually, I catch a kind of marzipan untertone also. The cinnamon is there a little bit, but the chili thatís supposed to be in here is long gone. I would have loved to try this one when fresh for comparison, but thatís impossible so Iíll have to stay true to what I know from this one.
