4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Odysseyalien (19) - New Jersey, USA - DEC 13, 2012On tap at the Blind Tiger Ale house, Manhattan 12-13-12.
I was surprised that i liked this as much as i do. Sipping on it now at the BT, the cinnamon flavor is slightly more pronounced on my palate than the chiles. I do taste the chiles though as subtle as they might be. Nice lacing forming in the tulip in front of me as this delicious gem slowly slips away.
A kind of Bayou mud-like appearance in the tulip...thin...difficult to say what color in the low light here.
Gosh...another Stone to add to the rotation. Quite delicious. If you like flavorful beers, and I’m a big barleywine lover, you might like this. I do!

Lovely aroma to this beer. Cherries, a bit of licorice, cinnamon come through. A great appearance. Crimson color with a good head and nice lacing.
Nice taste! A bit on the sweeter side. Sour cherries, a bit of bitterness. The heat of the chillies come through nicely at the end but I was hoping for a bit more of. Cinnamon is naturally there and balances it out well.
Good beer! Savoring every sip!

Pours reddish-brown with very thin head. Sweet malty aroma with pronounced chile notes. Flavor is all chiles up front, with a smooth malt finish with hints of chocolate. It certainly isn’t for everyone, but if you like the taste of chiles (no heat here, just flavor) this one’s a winner.

Bottle to pils glass
Aroma is almost all chilies, with some other spice but I'm not sure it's cinnamon. A nice fresh hoppiness in the back as well as some citrus. Reddish colour but a little cloudy with a thin long lasting creamy head. The taste is nice and malty up front but then the green chili taste comes through at the end. Mouthfeel is a tad thin, but there's a nice warmth due to the chilies. Well done and enjoyable.

Bomber from... somewhere. Pours the flander’s red cinnamon deep amber color, decent amount of foam initially, but it’s thin in constitution and fades away within a couple of minutes, leaving a thin, persistent film on 75% of the beer’s surface. Aroma is all sweet malts, like candi sugar and cinnamon. The only pepper burn comes through literally as a burn to the insides of my nostrils. Taste is malt-forward, followed by a touch of the dark hint of heat from the Anaheims, with a resounding cinnamon and red-hots finish. Funny, hadn’t thought of that candy in years, but here it sort of is in beer form. Cool. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation and a long finish. Nice beer. Not great, and not as good as most of the others, but still fun and high quality.

Bottle shared at a local tasting, thanks Brad! Pours a clear dark brown with a really thin head, the aroma has a subtle amount of spice with some yeast mixed in too, the flavor has a yeasty front end with a spiced finish, light mouthfeel, was pretty meh.

Hazy amber with a nice head. Aroma of alcohol and oxidation, raisins, caramel. Taste of lots of the same, very raisiny, some mango, nose that lasts into palate.
2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 adamah (63) - - APR 20, 2013
This one did not age well at all or it was just flawed from the beginning. The aroma was of chilies, cinnamon and gym socks. The spicy, sweet, and yeasty flavors didn’t really work that well together. It was so dry and astringent that I couldn’t even chug it to get it out of the way. There’s no way I could have drank a whole bottle.

Bomber into Trappist glass. Dirty-orange brown color with thin light tan head. Aroma of bready malt sweetness, fruity yeast (banana, cherry, grapes) and spices (pepper, cinnamon). Taste adds some candy sugar, chilli spice, caramel, licorice and earthy hop notes. Medium body, soft, low carbonation, mild heat, herbal with long sweet finish. The sweet and spicy notes balance well with each other. Good.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Westmeister (938) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - APR 4, 2013
Growler pour. Pours a dark amber with a fast disappearing minmal tan head. Aroma is sweet malty, some fruity yeast and odd mixture of spices and peppers. Taste was a mixture of spicy, sweet, fruity and yeasty. There was figs/rasins, peppers, cinnamon, other spices, maltiness, a bit of dustiness. Overall, the yeast, spice and chilis did not work for me in the least. I have a bottle of this sitting downstairs still so lets hope it has done something different than this keg has.

Aromas of purple grapes, cherries, stone fruits, and subtle banana; very characteristic of a quadrupel. A soft red with orange highlights, head is small but retains well, and with very sticky lacing, like a soft cheese. Flavors of booze, earthy, raw coffee, nutmeg, all spice, pink peppercorns, and cinnamon; dry and somewhat savory. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation, and finishes with a spicy, predominantly cinnamon finish.
