22 oz. bottle. Reddish brown pour with some head. Aroma of liquid smoke, cinnamon, mild spice from the chiles, toffee, caramel. Chile flavor starts out mild at first but some spice starts to open up. Some caramel sweetness, some cinnamon, lots of sweet bread. Towards the middle of the beer the chile dies out completely and it becomes a simple spiced yet cloying amber toffee bready mess. How this is supposed to age for a year I have no idea. I remember the halcyon days of my beer youth when new Stone offerings were exciting and wonderful. Now, it’s not even enough to upset me. Just mediocre and disappointing.

Bottle courtesy of Dale. Sweet, spicy, malty, pepper, cinnamon. Medium body. Low drinkability due to the odd flavor profile. Misstep.

Bought this last year and sat on it until the recomended time (well 10 days late). Cinnamon, nutmeg and a touch of pepper. Fairly sweet. Really a weird flavor. Now I see why it’s still on the shelves a year later.

Thanks to the Thorpes for sharing. The beer is pretty clear, appearing amber hued with a thin, tan collar. The aroma brings citrus, spice, malt. Interesting flavor, with some limes and tart citrus amidst a sturdy malt profile. Chiles emerge more as the beer is allowed to warm. Interesting. Spicy aftertaste with some medium to full bodied malt character. Decent.

Bottle sample at a Vertical Epic tasting at Mastikim. Thanks troubles/avrashi. Hazy amber. Aroma of malt, yeast, caraway bread, spices (chili pepper) and a bit of alcohol. Sweetish malty flavor with some chili peppers spiciness, caramel and a bit of fruitiness. Medium-bodied.

Pour was chestnut brown with an off white colored head. Aroma of spices and fruits and bread. Flavor was the same with strong bready bitterness amd ginger type notes finishing with definite peppers, coming off almost medicinal. Mouthfeel was moderate to full with light carbonation. Meh, not a huge stone Belgian fan, although normally liking stone!

Poured from a tap. Very sticky head. Dark brown/reddish pour. Chilies and a weird kinda ginger, medicinal nose. No hint of cinnamon. Flavor is more medicine and weird ginger. Not sure how one would age this. Not my style.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is medium to dark brown. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain, caramel), lightly yeasty (basement), with notes of metal, alcohol, banana, clove, orange peel. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, watery texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic, metallic. Generic, boozy, and quite metallic.

hmm.. .. Pours a deep tree copper .. . medium head, medium lacing .. . cinnamon, monkey wrench, spice, and very light pepper skin .. . way to much cinnamon, derails this completely. . . abv is masked quite well, until it hits the belly .. . probably the weakest of the vertical series, but if you like spice in beer, you might be odd enough to like this . . . . You accuse me of everything around here! "Who put slippers in the dishwasher?" "Who threw a cane at the TV?" "Who fell into the china hutch?
