22 oz. in a shaker it went. Letís hope that this one didnít get on the FAILBOAT just like the last one- seeing chiles and cinnamon isnít so reassuring though. Poured a solidly murky darkened amber color with shades of brown, white ring for a head, liquid sits very still. Aroma of old caramel, faded cinnamon, and thatís about it. Hits the mouth with a light medium body, malt is only so slightly sweet, faded chilies in the middle, finish is slightly degraded and falls apart without a definate feel. Real odd one. I shaved my balls for this?!?!

Amber body, tons of caramel, brown sugar and cinnamon spice on the nose. Lively carbonation, malty but innovative, as sweet, sugary cinnamon stick flavors pick up a blast of chili pepper as it lingers with a touch of heat and residual sweet caramel malt, banana and clove. This would be a perfect pairing with my chili recipe. Booze and spice linger.

Aroma of this beast is sweet malts with cloves and cinnamon. Thereís a yeasty tone in here but not overwhelming. The taste is like a big plate of figs, prunes, raisins and other dark fruits. Actually, I catch a kind of marzipan untertone also. The cinnamon is there a little bit, but the chili thatís supposed to be in here is long gone. I would have loved to try this one when fresh for comparison, but thatís impossible so Iíll have to stay true to what I know from this one.

SlackerMads (1896) - DENMARK - MAR 7, 2015
Bottle. Light hazy brown with a large beige head. Spicy and earthy nose. The chilies take a lot of place in the flavour, but no heat. No cinnamon. So basically there is a pretty soft and pleasant malt base with some caramel, brown sugar, light dark bread and on top of that the chilli flavours. Some dusty cocoa, wood and earth and light over ripe banana. Big bodied, soft carbonation, well balanced. Pretty mellow and soft, integrates the alcohol well.

Bottle. Pours amber with a small off-white head. Aroma was malty with caramel, cinnamon and had a hint of peppers. Flavor was quite sweet with caramel, toffee, yeast, cinnamon and some subtle chili peppers. Medium body, low carbonation, warming dry finish.

Bottle from some bottle shop out in the middle if nowhere. Poured dark amber with thin cream head. Aroma sweet candy citrus fruity spices. Light carb med bod. Taste starts to show the cinnamon and chili pepper still sweet

From notes. Tasted on 12/12/12 from a capped 22oz bottle with Curtis, and the Nashville crew. Pours hazy orange/amber with an average off-white head that leaves thin, bubbly lace. The nose is full of malty caramel with some chili pepper and cinnamon underlying. The flavor is sweet caramel malt up front, moving to cinnamon and chili pepper spice, pretty simple. The body is full and sticky with average carbonation and a long sweet caramel and spicy chili finish.

Draft. Oh dear, this beer didnít work for me. Over a cloudy amber body, nose is green bell pepper, jalapeno, light strawberry, some fruity yeast and dough. Flavor is awash with simple Belgian amber notes with that lingering green jalapeno waxiness. It lacks a pleasing balance of flavors.

Medium beige head atop murky copper body. Aroma is moderately sweet, cinnamon, some chile pepper, light candi sugar. Taste is moderately sweet, candi sugar, some orange, cinnamon, light pepper. Butterscotch creeps in as it warms. Medium body, low carbonation, alcohol fairly well masked.

Rated based on notes taken 27 Dec 2011 -- Very good. Much better than the description lead me to believe.
