3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: deep dark woods buried under a tan head which fades into a thick collar bordering a thin head. Swirls with little change.
Nose: sweet spiced woodsy and oaky with apricots, peaches, and plums. Spiced apples with a melted toffee glaze.
Palate: booze and spice drenched apricots, peaches, plums, and apples. Rustic along the sides with cinnamon sticks and wood. Bourbon vanillin and caramel sweetness mingles with firm rye spice.
Final Thoughts: not my favorite of the Vertical Epic beers from Stone Brewing but by all means, still a very happy quaff. Having embraced the wide world of craft beer quite a few years after Stone started their Vertical Epic series, it was even longer after that their beers were available in Florida. I am happy to have the more recent releases even as I covet all the earlier releases I am missing. Cíest la vie.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Brownish-red with a medium off-white head. Aroma is very sweet and malty, a distinct green pepper aroma from the Anaheims. Taste is medium sweet, mild bitter, and quite vegetal, with some spice and more of the Anaheim peppers. Finish is dry with more pepper coming through.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a hazy reddish brown with an off white head and lacing. It has a nice aroma of chiles, cinnamon, raisin and other dark fruit notes. The flavor is spicy chiles and sweet malt up front leading to a spicy sweet finish over a medium body.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
11.11.2013. 22 oz. bottle opened 2 years after release. Pours deep copper with a small tan head. Sweet fruity aromas with malt and spice. The peppers still show though, but the cinnamon is gone which is great in my book. For a beer this old, mine held up pretty good and not as flat as I had expected.

Happy 11.11, the time has come to clear space in my cellar & drink this bottle of Stoneís Vertical Epic 11.11 I got it from Asahiya, 9.4%. Served in a Trappist glass, a beautiful mellow amber brown pour with a beige head. The aroma is malty sweet with some fruity notes of figs & chili heat. The taste is malty, nutty, sweet, figs, plums & a mild chili heat in the finish. This was made with cinnamon but I donít pick up on that at all. A nice Belgian with some heat from the booze & the Anaheim chilies! I think I agree with others, it isnít aging that well but is still ok.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle - this was aged, but it has completely lost the chile heat or cinnamon character. I agree with the brother, meh.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Brusiní Ales. Pours brown wih a thin khaki head. Has a slight pepper note on the note. Has some roasted pepper notes on the tongue but theyíre faint. Hides its alcohol well. Did not exactly benefit by aging. Eh!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. I had this in 10/13 so it had been cellared properly for a while. I was not a huge fan of this brew. The chiles gave it an off flavor i think.
