22oz Bottle. The pour was a murky dark amber brown with a large (2-3 finger) light brown foamy head that reduced to a few puddles and a large collar with good sticky lacing. The aroma was of roasted caramel malts and a sweet doughy yeast with notes of chocolate, toffee, cinnamon, chili’s, dried fruit (raisons and figs) and a mild alcohol tinge. The taste was malty sweet and a bit acidic with a note of caramel and a touch of cinnamon and chocolate early on, and then progressed with a seriously bold maltiness that had hints of toffee, dried fruit and a light spicy alcohol finish. The flavor lasted for a good long while with a slightly spicy sweet warming sensation, which hit you right in the back of the throat. Mouthfeel was a solid medium in body and dry in texture with a somewhat mild carbonation. Overall this was a very interesting brew, lots of complexity with the flavors in this one. That being said, they all seemed to work extremely well together, making this a very enjoyable drinking experience...

Pours a nice dark reddish amber color. Aromas of fruit, and some other hints, maybe some spices, maybe caramel. Flavor is a bittersweet, malty, and a hint of hops with a nice bittersweet finish.

Version 2. Ah, fresh hops. This is really good. Nice sweetness hidden under a gentle but very present hop flavor. Nice carbonation that is a light body and lively but not intense. A bit overly cloudy.

Bottle. It poured a reddish/brown color with an off-white head. The aroma was of chiles, cinnamon, raisin and dark fruits. The taste was similar to the aroma with more chiles. malts and a spicy sweet finish.

650ml bottle cellared 4 years and shared by all during the family Christmas vertical with the 08/09/10/11/12. Thanks for the help, bro, in acquiring these. Dark reddish pour. Cinnamon, chiles in the nose. Taste leads with that but the main player turns out to be a bit more of an amber. Sweet, wit h the other presence around the edges. Chiles mellowed out over the time? 13.4

Mild roasted chili flavor in an amber ale. Uses Belgian yeast for slight banana after taste. Second tasting was a bit different. More roasted chili flavor and aroma. Not as much banana as before. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 650 ml. 4 years old. Bronze-amber color with noisy cream foam. Aroma: pleasant, sweetness and port wine, malt, caramel, toffee, dried fruits, plums, raisins, cinnamon and other spices, light chilies. Taste: malt sweetness, port wine or sherry, caramel, toffee and dried fruits (figs, raisins, plums and apricots), spices, cinnamon. Finish rather dry with chilies and hop bitterness. Great brew, good balanced (thanks aging).

old review - got lost when I transferred, apparently. This was one of my faves of the series. Chilli was light but present and the cinnamon spicing was just right.
