3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz Bottle. The pour was a murky dark amber brown with a large (2-3 finger) light brown foamy head that reduced to a few puddles and a large collar with good sticky lacing.
The aroma was of roasted caramel malts and a sweet doughy yeast with notes of chocolate, toffee, cinnamon, chili’s, dried fruit (raisons and figs) and a mild alcohol tinge.
The taste was malty sweet and a bit acidic with a note of caramel and a touch of cinnamon and chocolate early on, and then progressed with a seriously bold maltiness that had hints of toffee, dried fruit and a light spicy alcohol finish. The flavor lasted for a good long while with a slightly spicy sweet warming sensation, which hit you right in the back of the throat.
Mouthfeel was a solid medium in body and dry in texture with a somewhat mild carbonation.
Overall this was a very interesting brew, lots of complexity with the flavors in this one. That being said, they all seemed to work extremely well together, making this a very enjoyable drinking experience...

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
660ml bottle (thanks FatPhil). Cloudy, deep amber color. Very malty, chilly peppers, sweet, caramel in aroma. Malty, red chilly, bit of raisins, grassy hops, plums in taste. Spicy grass in aftertaste. Not so shy chilly peppers everywhere.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured a cloudy caramel color. Almost like a freshly pressed apple cider. There was a tall creamy dark tan head. The aroma was mostly yeast and bread. There was a hint of cinamon and some other spices. There beer itself had a thick creamy texture and a very unique flavor. There was a good amount of caramel sweetness along with some dark fruit flavors. There was a hint of cinnamon and some fall like spices, but it also had a bit of an unfiltered fresh apple cider bit of tartness. I didn’t get much if any of the pepper aroma or taste. This beer was pretty interesting and I enjoyed it. It was definetely unique in flavor, but nice.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured from a 650ml bottle. Bubbly fawn-coloured head over a bright mahogany coloured body. Drying aroma of herbs, old books and caramel. Rather strange and unusual taste of bread, spices, wood and, in fact, beetroot joined by some jammy fruits as well. Drying end with warming alcohol. Quite well bodied. Not sure what to make of it, anyway, not a great one (Tromsø 17.04.2015).

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz cellared - I’ve been sitting on this one. The time was right. Nice ale, gold color, froth. I really had no sense of the chiles or the cinnamon.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Amber body, tons of caramel, brown sugar and cinnamon spice on the nose. Lively carbonation, malty but innovative, as sweet, sugary cinnamon stick flavors pick up a blast of chili pepper as it lingers with a touch of heat and residual sweet caramel malt, banana and clove. This would be a perfect pairing with my chili recipe. Booze and spice linger.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma of this beast is sweet malts with cloves and cinnamon. There’s a yeasty tone in here but not overwhelming. The taste is like a big plate of figs, prunes, raisins and other dark fruits. Actually, I catch a kind of marzipan untertone also. The cinnamon is there a little bit, but the chili that’s supposed to be in here is long gone. I would have loved to try this one when fresh for comparison, but that’s impossible so I’ll have to stay true to what I know from this one.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Light hazy brown with a large beige head. Spicy and earthy nose. The chilies take a lot of place in the flavour, but no heat. No cinnamon. So basically there is a pretty soft and pleasant malt base with some caramel, brown sugar, light dark bread and on top of that the chilli flavours. Some dusty cocoa, wood and earth and light over ripe banana. Big bodied, soft carbonation, well balanced. Pretty mellow and soft, integrates the alcohol well.
