4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aromas of cinnamon, allspice, ginger, subtle oregano, and fennel. Black with a mostly fading, tan head. Flavors of coffee, soy, and cinnamon; dry, savory, and bitter. Medium-full bodied with low-moderate carbonation, and a dry, licorice-like finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12.11.2012. Black color with lasting tan sheen. Minty, chocolate, rootbeer spice aromas. Smooth medium body with soft co2. Nice holiday spice, cocoa, mint, nutty, toasted caramel flavors---a most worthy 12.12.12 brew

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours an opaque black with very thin slivers of cola brown around the bottom edge of the glass. A big, thick, foamy, long-lasting light mocha colored head. Medium-bodied, slick to mildly astringent moutfheel. Asymmetrical foamy lacing clings and drags as the beer is drunk. Cardamom nose with not much else going on. Flavors of clove up front with mild ginger. The bitterness of the clove needs to be balanced with something that has more depth. The experience is too narrow. Not enough going on. This is the last one?? Stone disappoints again. But, for a different reason this time.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
From notes: Poured opaque black with a 1-finger tan head. Aroma of cola or caramel, with notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. Some mild clove beneath. Full body, somewhat oily with a dry finish. Flavor of roasted malt and some earthy yeast. The spices lie beneath with a slight burnt note that lightens as it warms.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Generally not a huge fan of seasonal/christmas beers but this is a standout. Strong allspice/clove with nutmeg and other spices.
Definitely not a beer to "knock back" one after the other but an outstanding beer not only in it’s class but overall.
I would say in my top 3 easily.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma av juletid. Nejlika intryck i en apelsin. Pluspoäng för innovationen och kraften i aroman och smaken. Medium beska med liten eftersmak. Får bli att köpa en till och lagra den två år, så kommer den var ännu mer välbalanserad.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft. Pours deep brown with a beige head. Big belgian yeasty notes, weird spicy notes, almost like ginger and peppercorns, peachy fruits, and lighter roasted malts. Meh, certainly not bad, but not great either.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; obvious November 2012 bottling. Pours pitch black color with a 2 finger dense dark tan head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of huge dark chocolate, roasted malt, toast, cinnamon, allspice, ginger, nutmeg, clove, dark bread, pepper, floral, orange peel, light char, roasted earth, and yeast spiciness. Fantastic aromas with great balance, complexity, and strength of dark malt, spice, and yeast ester notes. Taste of dark chocolate, roasted malt, cinnamon, ginger, allspice, nutmeg, clove, toast, pepper, dark bread, orange peel, light char, floral, roasted earth, and yeast spiciness. Lingering notes of dark chocolate, roasted malt, toast, cinnamon, ginger, allspice, nutmeg, clove, pepper, dark bread, floral, light char, roasted earth, and yeast spiciness on the finish for a while. Very nice balance, complexity, and robustness of roasted malt and spices flavors; with a great sweetness/spice balance; and zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very creamy and slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent spiced Belgian dark ale! Great robustness and balance of dark malt and spice flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A highly enjoyable offering.
