Had in both bottle and on tap. The bottle does not do it justice. Seemed darker on tap too.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tallahassee, Fl - Market Square Liquors - 22 oz bomber. Jet black pour with medium thick mocha colored head that sticks around a while. Aroma has a touch of licorice, some Carbona cleaner, a hint of coffee. Flavor is bold and big with some licorice accents, a touch of nutmeg, some cloves, a hint of caramel and chocolate sweetness. Slick and thick mouthfeel. Nice nightcap.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft sample at Tap House Grill, Westmont. Hard to pick out the nose with my sniffles, but I mostly get a note of licorice, Certainly nothing that they list as having been added to the beer. Thick legs in the glass, with a thin note of foam. I still say it has one of the most pronouced licorice tastes that I’ve found in a good beer, as in not enough to put me off. Okay, so it’s just the other spices working together, like in a root beer. Add to that roasty malts for a taste of coffee on the side, a viscous mouthfeel to make a big, syrupy beer. Glad to have had this taste; I have one bottle at home with just some 10.10.10 and 11.11.11 for company, and even that’s too much for me to have a mini-vertical. Any helpers?

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft and bottle. Black tan head. Aroma of ginger bread. Taste of ginger bread and finishes with an off medicinal flavor. Kind of all over the place. Maybe needs time to settle.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pour is black with a brown head - very stoutish. Aroma is very spicy and clean with loads of nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, jerk chicken, and many more coupled with lightly roasted malt. Think jerk chicken rub. Flavor is big with lots of Christmas spice and more Carribean Jerk chicken flavors. More notes of fruit and chocolate come out as it warms. This is a bit over the top - which i love when it is pulled off this well. Totally worth a try.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Love this brewery. No such thing as normal. Pours black with tan head...looks stoutish. Aromas are yeasty and spicy...but the flavours are crazy...like someone had their way with the spice rack. Massive clove and allspice flavours. Bitter chocolate malts at the end. Tastes like christmas in a glass....Stone-style. Memorable beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle from SoHo Organic Market in Elizabeth City, NC. Pours almost black with a frothy brown head reminiscent of an imperial stout. The aroma is heavy on the licorice with light dark fruits, ginger, and allspice. The taste is heavy on the spices (ginger, cinnamon, clove, and allspice). Some dark roasted malt leaves a lasting impression on the palate. Really unlike anything I can recall trying before and one of the better beers (if not the best) I have had in this series.
