COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As with any good epic, herein lies the promise of larger-than-life experiences, heroics, and twists and turns as the adventure unfolds. This bottle-conditioned ale is chapter eleven. Now is the time to enjoy it in a “vertical” tasting side by side with its ten Stone Vertical Epic Ale brethren! Each one unique to its year of release. Each with its own “twist & turn” in the plot line. Each one released one year, one month and one day from the previous year’s edition. This year’s Stone Vertical Epic Ale is the very last one. Yep, this is it. The final chapter. Or as they say on the last slide in some old films: “Fin.” No worries though: this edition is particularly well-suited for prolonging the experience, as it’s as cellarable as any in the series, or more. In this, the final edition, you can expect a perfectly balance *womp* of spices: cinnamon, ginger, allspice, sweet orange peel, clove (only a little!) and rosehips, all in the context of a dark Belgian style abbey-ish beer…but not as sweet. Dry even. Stone style. Thanks for coming on this Epic Stone-style journey with us! You can rest assured there will be new adventures to come…

Bottle. Pours a dark, basically opaque dark brown. Lots of head on it, dark coffee-brown. Raisin, cinnamon in the smell. Has a nice light fizzy feel, bot quite what I expected from it. Pretty good, a decent sweetness to it. Perhaps a little too sweet.

Bomber to glass mug. Pours an opaque black with a brown head that stays. Clove is the dominant flavor with a black coffee background. Nice and smooth mouthfeel. Tons of stuff going on here. Says it’s a belgian, but you couldn’t convice me. Its more imperial stout.

Bottle poured a dark cola with a large mocha head and notable lacing. Aroma begins with gingerbread with notes of ginger, allspice, and clove evident followed by a hint of roasted malt. Taste begins with similar spices before a wave of roasted malt leads to palatable bitterness. Enjoyable creamy mouthfeel with flavor of spices lingering. Really enjoyed this and definitely worth having another.

~Strong aroma of clove, licorice, pepper and ginger. Reminds me of the holidays. Love the smell, but not getting any malt or hops. ~Pours pitch black with small brown bubbly head. ~Strong clove flavor with same spices that were found in aroma along with cinnamon. Spices are overwhelming and make this hard to drink. ~medium full bodied with medium CO2, lingering bitter clove finish. ~The spices are too much on this. Loved the aroma, but my palate was assaulted by a spice cabinet. Needs sweetness for balance or less spices. Bummer. I was really looking forward to this.

Thanks to the Thorpes for sharing. The beer is dark brown, nearing black, with a quarter inch if beige head. The aroma offers licorice, overly spiced, cookie dough, holiday spices. Mediocre flavor. Dark roast and spices with a touch of alcohol heat. This puts the final touches on a mediocre set of beers. On the whole, I remain entirely unimpressed with Stone.

Growler from Cumming Growler Shop. Pours a dark brown with a tan frothy head. Nice sticky lacing. Aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and allspice. Taste is loaded with spices. Cinnamon nutmeg and clove dominate. Full-bodied with a nice velvety mouth-feel. Sticky sweet with a slightly bitter dry finish. Another awesome brew from Stone! --Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Near black with a dense tan head. Aroma is the list of spices with a good dose of orange and molasses. Almost like a spice cake. Taste is very similar but not quite as sweet as the aroma. Full body. Very soft carbonation.

Malty nose with a dash of chocolate and baking spices. Beautiful , brown- black brutish color. No lacing, thin head. Tastes like malt and chocolate. This beer is beautiful.

On tap at Driftwood. Pours black with a thick caramel head. Aroma is of malts, chocolate, slight smoke, and cloves. Flavor is of malts, cloves, chocolate, yeast, and booziness. Full bodied. Leaves a bitter sweet malt, chocolate, and clove finish. Unique.

The aroma is very spicy with chocolate, cola, molasses, and tasted malt. The appearance is dark brown with a tan head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall this is good.
