750ml Bottle @ Earl of Essex 2013/4/17 Hints of just about every flavour I don’t enjoy in a beer - liquorice, cloves, aniseed, star anise, sour milk. Perfect carbonation and body. Very impressive. Just wish I could have enjoyed it.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Cunningham (2972) - Halden, NORWAY - MAY 13, 2013
Appearance: Black color with a beige head. Ok lacing Aroma: Roasted malt and rich Christmas spicy (cinnamon). Palate: Full body. A bit sweet and a fine bitterness. Soft carbonation. Taste: Complex beer. Roasted malt, espresso, rich spicy (cinnamon) and a bit fruity. Well hidden alcohol. Overall impression: A really nice and powerful ale. Personal stats: Bottle from a trade with SaintMatty.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Pitch black with small beige head. Aroma of nutmeg and pine. Sweet with fudge and molasses with full body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Molasses, nutmeg and cinnamon dominates completely. Heavy and powerful. Long herbal bitterness with some ink. Unbalanced.

Christmas. Dark. Heavy. Cream. Warm, and refreshing. Wish I had another few.
4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 adamhorror (53) - USA - MAY 6, 2013
Pours black like a stout but not as thick body-wise. Not much head, I didn't pour too vigorously to create a large head. Aroma is spicy, similar to gingerbread but not as strong as hops cut through. Taste is spicy, very Christmas ale-ish. Reminds me of Sam Adams Merry Mischief with less flavor. Palate is hoppy, cinnamon, ginger, not very watery but a tad thin for its appearance.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20 radio_nowhere (415) - Maryland, USA - MAY 4, 2013
Bomber into snifter glass. Deep dark brown/black with brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, cinnamon, chocolate, licorice, clove and fruity Belgian yeast. Taste adds more spiciness (adding allspice, nutmeg and rosehips to aroma spices), some coffee, dark fruit, ending with a nice hop bite. Heavy body, average carbonation, rich, complex with a dry warm finish. It’s fun trying to figure out all the flavors, kind of a spices bomb. Overall very enjoyable.
4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Braudog (5025) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - MAY 4, 2013
Bottle. Pours like a deep, dark secret ... brooding and black/red and totally opaque, with a full-up head of heavy, pock-marked foam. The aroma is meaty and aggressive, and carries over a foot from the glass to my nasal passages, hinting at some rough clove and maybe a wee bit whiskey. The drink is an adventure, a gritty and slightly dirty quaff, the almost Christmas-y blend of spices taking the predominate roll. Nice way to finish off this series. (Beer #5,000!!, 5/4/2013)
