Opaque dark brown beer, little pale tan head. Light spice on the nose. Viscous soft palate. Creamy dark malt, airy. Strong cinnamon and cloves. Trace of citric hop. Finishes spice bitter and dry. Hugely over spiced and hugely disappointing. A rare Stone howler! Drain pour.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, 22oz. It’s a more or less black one, topped by a creamy, two-finger light beige head leaving lacings. The aroma is rather spiced, with cardamom, cloves and some orange peel. Roasted too, some alcohol notes blending in. It’s full-bodied, smooth and quite dry and warming on the palate, with lots of flavor. Maybe a bit too much spices maybe, especially the cloves. Cinnamon and some orange peel, as well as roasted malts and some chocolate. A touch of dried fruits too. Long, roasted and clove-ish finish. Well, it’s sure a nice one, but way too clove-tasting for my liking. A Christmas beer if you ask me. 130819

Source: Hop City, Atlanta
Appearance: black, frothy tan head, drippy layers of lace
Aroma: sweet dark belgian aroma, dark fruits, sweet esters, lots of spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, touch of clove, roasted malt
Flavor: big spicy flavor, sweet cinnamon, a tad too much clove, dark fruits try to balance the spices but have no sweetness to back it up, bitterness follows the spices for a spicy bitter finish
Aroma: 6/10; Appearance: 7/10; Flavor: 6/10; Palate: 6/10; Overall: 13/20

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dark brown with a creamy dark tan head. Aroma is very spicy. Ginger might be the stand out. Xmas beer. Full bodied. Flavor is very spicy indeed. Ginger and allspice stand out. Lots of flavor in this ale. Finishes quite dry, somehow, and a little ashy/earthy. Finally I get a cinnamon note. Quite the experience.
