22 oz. bottle - I’m not quite sure why I didn’t rate this when it first came out. Luckly, I had one bottle left from the half case I bought three years ago. Anyways... Pours a dark brown color with a half finger thick tan head. Very light spotty lacing. Aroma is dark esters, chocolate, and mollasses. Flavor is much of the same. The alcohol is noticeable, but not over bearing. Medium to full body. A good beer.

Had this on stone tap takeover and loved it and recently got myself a vintage bottle of this and it was amazing. Poured into a tulip, dark with a brown head with an aroma full of bitter chocolate, and burnt malt. Taste is bitter and sweet, full of chocolate and nuts, very creamy. Finishes smooth with a long aftertaste, a little bit sticky. Very nice brew one of my fav stouts.

Draught at The Rake. Had spent three years in the pubcellar before being served. Black beer, brown head. Malty vinous aroma, chocolate, cocoa, milky, creamy, cocoa, some licorice. Hoppy chocolate flavor, milky, vinous, nuts, cocoa, creamy, licorice. Alcohol is very well hidden.

Bottle with many thanks to Boutip. Dark, black pour with a centimeter of brown foam. Lots of chocolate in the aroma, lots of burnt grain, cocoa and a hint of molasses. Taste is bitter, quite roasted, you can really pick up the oatmeal stout flavors. Palate is a bit thin for the style with a bit bit of alcohol on the finish.

22oz bottle from blutt59, thanks Bob! Pours a pitch black body with a finger-width, dense and creamy, dark brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing throughout. Aroma has lots of bitter and sweet dark chocolates with a good amount of creamy roasts and a nice mix of molasses and dark fruits. A touch of burnt malt along with some nuts, oats, and a light hopping. Flavor is big dark chocolates with a nice mix of bitter and sweet. Creamy roasts with some burnt malts balanced well with plenty of caramel and a bit of a molasses sweetness. There is a light bitter hop throughout alongside the bitter chocolates that is really nice and goes well with the sweetness of the rich chocolates. A light dark fruit and a touch of ash before this finishes rich and roasty with tons of dark chocolates. Slowly dries with a light bitterness before leaving a very lengthy aftertaste. Full, very smooth, sligthly syrupy body with a light, creamy carbonation and just a hint of alcohol warmth. This has aged nicely and the plethora of oats make this extremely smooth and creamy. Wonderful palate. Overall, an excellent imperial stout. Tons of smooth, bittersweet dark chocolates with a solid roast and light hopping to balance the sweetness. Extremely rich and flavorful with just a touch of alcohol warmth that has settled well with age. The oats and chocolate are delectable and so damn smooth. Wow. This was fantastic.

Bottle shared with our Mes. Cheers for the 1000th time for great beer! Poured a pretty much jet black colour with dark brown head that slowly faded. Aroma has dark chocolate, some dark fruits, roasted malts, nuts and oats. Flavour is similar with a hint of roasted smokiness and more chocolate.
