COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Stone 13th Anniversary Ale pours brilliant deep red with a light tan foam. Up front, the aroma is all piney, resinous and citrus hops. Upon tasting, the hops are still on the front, and they are balanced with the malty, toffee like flavors contributed from the blend of crystal and amber malts used in the brewhouse. The finish is deliciously bitter, with a touch of warmth provided by the 9.5% alcohol. Bitterness comes in at 90+ IBU.

2009 vintage. Hazy brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and rather hoppy - old hops. Flavor is quite sweet and very bitter. Dry and very bitter finish. 100412

A: The color is more brown than anything, but it does have a definite reddish tint. Not much head, but off-white in color, and excellent lacing. S: Hops, a lot of them. Tons of citrus, and it just smells bitter. A few extra sniffs gives a bit of a malt finish to the nose. T: A lot more balanced than the scent would indicate. Of course, there are tons of hops in this bad boy, lots of citrus (again) and bitterness on the front with a nice smooth, malty finish. A bit of lingering bitterness and a bit of heat. M: Full bodied, not much carbonation. D: Despite the hoppiness and high ABV, it’s quite drinkable. Not something you could drink all day, but very tasty.

Really delicious and deep. Had a glass on tap at Rattle n Hum. Pours a dark, ruby red. Nose of hops and sweet fruits. Flavor is complex: nice hop presence along with some roasted maltiness with notes of caramel and toffee. Warming mouthfeel with the decent ABV. Finish is sweet and slightly bitter. Great beer.

Bottle shared by Danny at the Party source. Poured reddish brown color with an average to large frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy malt and earthy hop aroma. Moderate to full body with a smooth slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy biiter sweet flavor to medium bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where met with a complex beer and may become a standout with a year.

Draught at Churchkey. Pine, grass and citrus aroma, lots of caramel, good body. Nothing complex, just lots of hops and malt.

A dark reddish brown ale with a thin dark moka head. Nice aroma of hops, licorice, soy sauce, herbal and complex. In mouth, burned caramel malt with soy sauce, loads of c-hops, toffee, light coffee grains and super warming alcohol. Rich, onctuous, and challenging. Bottle from Probstk, thanks Karl.

Bomber poured a clear dark reddish amber with a small lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of orange, tangerine, melon, tropical fruit, light carmel and light pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, pine, pink grapefruit, orange, light tropical fruit and light tangerine with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish.

Hopheads rejoice!! Pours a nice dark brown/red color. Small head. Aroma is hoppy as hell! Floral and citrus hops. Lots of grass too. Big beer. Hops bite you throughout the beer but there is just enough malt to make this a real treat. Stone does it right...yet again!

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Clear ruby ale with a mid-sized, off-white head. The aroma offers lots of caramel and earthy hops. Full-bodied and lightly creamy with lively carbonation. Hoppy as Hell and very warm. The flavor is all about robust toffee, alcohol and an imperious measure of piney, grapefruity hop bitterness. Lengthy, bitter finish. Another arrogant, overbearing, world class IPA from the folks at Stone!
