3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle 65. Courtesy of joergen. Pours pitch black with a beige head. Rather bad, intense greasy hop aroma with a licorice touch. Rich body, heavy licorice, a very herbal and medicinal hop character. Dark charcoal roast. Seems unbalanced to me in both malt and hop character. 160612

GBBF Cask. Opaque black beer, tidy tan head, Smooth dark malt with just a whisper of roast, very mild. Piney hops, quite strong. Light red fruits bring up the rear. Bitterish piney finish. Good stuff, smooth and effortlessly drinkable. A stand out beer from GBBF 2011.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tasting at Papsø’s
Black color, with large beige head, compact. Aroma of roasted malts and resiny hops, strong. Good mouthfeel, full bodied, with strong and very good flavor of roasted malts, some dark chocolate, compounded by a sharp bitterness, with piney edges, and light liquorice and coffee.
A classic way of brewing, very good.
