COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our latest anniversary beer, starring an all-German cast of malt and hops, is yet one more glorious example of a Stone IPA brewed outside the box. Our brewers have brought their experiments with German hops to fruition, leaving convention behind to create this hefty IPA entirely with pilsner malts. These provide a superbly crisp mouthfeel, while a unique mix of noble and new-school hop varieties adds layers of bright, bitter flavors. Despite the daunting name, this beer isn’t designed to bring about the end of the world, but it just might destroy some of your preconceived notions of what an IPA can be.

Hops bill: Bitter-hopped with Magnum Late kettle additions: Herkules, Merkur and Opal Whirlpool: Emerald (aka Smaragd) and Strisselspalt from the Alsace region of France, which is just a stone’s throw across the Rhine from the German border. Dry-hopped with a 50/50 blend of German Hersbrucker and Sterling

Malt bill: Weyerman Pilsner Malt, Briess GoldPils Vienna

Out of bottle. Pours a very clear golden amber. Aroma is sweet and hoppy. Taste is very different. Its an ipa of sorts but just different enough that it makes you do a double take. Good beer nonetheless.

Nice golden pour. Excellent lacing. Aroma of light pine and oranges. Flashes of ruination during first SIP, but more those German pilsner malts shine through. Another quality IPA from Stone.

Si le houblon etait une fleur, et que j’en consommais gouluement tout en me versant la biere la plus crisp du monde dans mon gorgoton en méme temps, je crois ca ressemblerait à ça. Different, florale, destabilisant...génial.

USA bottle- Appearance- Pours a nice golden copper with a solid frothy white head. Aroma- Hops. Fruit and citrus with floral notes and a touch of pine resin. Very nice indeed. Taste- Bold hops, tastes of sweet grapefruit and burnt pine resin. Has an almost buttered cracker flavor underneath that eases into a mild bitterness with just a slight alcohol warming on the tongue. Palate- Meduim bodied, mildly carbonated. Overall- An interesting IPA. Worth a try and looking forward to next years offering.

smells really different for an IPA but It’s a good aroma. Tart and slightly bitter. Taste is wonderful! Man I dig this Stone offering. Those european Hops blend just right with the pumped up Pilsner malt. The next sip opening yet most taste buds from this delicious beer. Sweet and sticky yet bitterness that wholly over the pond style IPA. The bitterness finishes and lingers. very good stuff! Clean and clear with a beautiful light orange hue. great carbonation. YOU GOTTA TRY THIS STUFF!

Bottle. Pours orange /golden color, clear, very thin, fine white head. Aroma hops, bread, light citrus. Taste is mostly hops, bread, sour, acidic with a nice bitter, wet hop finish. Mouthfeel us nice and full. Rare lacing. This ipa has a strong wet hopped character without the usual super bitter finish.
