   AROMA 8/10   APPEARANCE 5/5   TASTE 9/10   PALATE 4/5   OVERALL 16/20
Hairofthedog (419) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 7, 2005
Citrus and fermented fruit w/ hints of barnyard ( i think that it went south) on the nose... Big bitter, citrus, w/ soury fermented fruit... Major effervescence and light, it poured a cloudy orange w/ yellow hues, very thin head and slight lacing.

Blake (396) - Orange, California, USA - JUL 25, 2003
Had on draught at the Stuffed Sandwich on July 25th, 2003 - Day 25 of Blake's Beer Month™
It was a true treat to find 3rd through 6th anniversary on draught - many thanks to Sam for providing these to the public...Of the third through fifth anniversary IPAs, the third is by far the best of the three. It pours with a small white head and a beautiful orange glow. The aroma is very hoppy with an intoxicating sweetness and a hint of dough/bread. The beer is clear with a small bit of carbonation. The flavor is magnificent - not the over the top hops you'd expect from a Stone Anniversary IPA, but still quite hoppy - features a long lasting flavor of hops, malt and very nicely masked alcohol. Top notch stuff, easily the best of the anniversary brews - which is a shame since it wasn't bottled and is all but impossible to find.

Changed (343) - Ithaca, New York, USA - MAY 17, 2007
bottle. poured a nearly clear golden color. off-white foamy head, fairly long lasting. distinct smell of pine and something like grapefruit. very drinkable, but probably because of its age. still a good beer.

I recently was lucky enough to have a bottle of this beer at a friends house. It is aging wonderfully and is developing a much better balance. It has enough hops in it to age it for years to come though.

Strong hoppy flavor. Head disappates quickly with some lace. Very strong taste, gets better as time goes by. Pours a light orange color. Average in my opinon.

high amount of hops, a little strong but good tasting. same with effect. good high alcohol volume for high hops.

The third anniversary IPA has a orange color and has a light hoppy aroma and flavor. It's hoppy flavor is less than the fourth or fifth anniversary.
