COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Super Special Pale Ale. Amber-ish/dark orange color, quite hoppy with a fruity aroma and upfront flavor. There is a hop-bitterness sting on the tongue at first with noticeable malt reminiscent of a sweet pastry, more fruity hop flavors linger and blend into a toasty-malty balance that comes through in the finish. This full bodied ale is placed nicely on the high side of the scale.

Tap at Winter Storm 09. I would drink this early and often. A great red, even though it looks a lot like an IPA. Wonderful red creaminess, very bright fruit and alcohol. Like a simpler YuleSmith.

Draft at Stone Winter Storm! (01/25/09) Poured a cloudy pale orange with no head. Sweet orange nose. Nice orange flavors with some lite hoppy bitterness. Very smooth and warm in belly. IMHO a little past its prime but great potential inside it!

On draft at the 2008 Stone Winter Storm Appearance is amazing, cloudy light orange hue, off-white dense and creamy head sustains, big thick lacing all over Smell is solid with subtle pine hops with a sugar coating, some apples and pears come through, very sweet overall Taste is subtle hops and sweet malts, transitions to some grassy and earthy tones, finishes mild with slight alcohol, underwhelming flavors mostly Mouthfeel is medium-bodied, creamy smooth texture, moderate carbonation Drinkability is low to fair, I found the flavors to be lacking and muted, with not much to get excited about, the 7th may have had some unfair competition at the Storm, so I would be willing to try it again for a re-evaluation

Tapped at Lucky Baldwins Stone party. I think age has treated this beer incredibly. It was me and my brothers favorite of the day and we tried nearly all of them. Huge creamy texture with roasted malts. It was so good, I wonder how I might have rated this upon release.

22oz bottle, courtesy of wetherel. Thanks, John! Pours a bright, clear orange-amber color; light-tan head with glistening, fine-bubbled lacing. Lots of dried caramel oxidation, dried oranges in the aroma; oxidized, dense, and aromatic. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: dried caramel, some spiciness, and dense yeastiness and dried fruits; very oxidized, dense, and flavorful. Lengthy finish: dried fruits, toasty malts, spice, and toastiness.

Courtesy of kmweaver. Mostly clear amber body with a small white head. The nose is caramel, pine and citrus. The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately bitter with grapefruit and pine hops, tons of caramel/crystal malt, ice tea and light raisins. Medium body is round with moderate carbonation and a slight astringency.

On tap. Pours with a small, off-white head covering a hazy amber body. aroma of hops, fruits, sweet berries and caramel. Taste is caramel, hops, some coconut, and a touch of diacetyl butteriness. Mouthfeel is heavy and thick.

From old tasting notes back when this one was fresh. Sampled from a 22 oz bottle this beer poured a dark amber color with a large tan head. The aroma was strong sweetish fruity hops. The flavor was all about the fruity hops but with an underlying harshness that put me off a bit. Very one dimensional and this one did not really stand out to me.

From tap at Stone Bistro. Pours hazy orange with a creamy and slight orange coloured head. Dense hoppy and caramel smooth aroma. Light breadish in the inital flavour with a dense hoppy presence. Caramel and mild hoppy finish as the caramel slowly takes over.

Draft at the Bistro. Pours a semi-hazy dark orange color, with a small off white head. Smells pretty malty, with some sweet dark fruits in the background. The flavor was also quite sweet, with good doses of cinnamon spice making an appearance. Some hops and candy sugar were noticeable as well. Pretty decent for its age still. Not mind blowing, but not too bad.
