bdigi66 (456), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA Sep 30, 2008 Bottle: Courtesy of cmr1517...thanks Chris. Murky mahogany pour with a wispy tan head. Obviously no hop notes present what-so-ever. Notes of caramel malt, berries and some roasted malts. Very smooth body...flavor had some caramel, dark fruits and bread dough to it, though slightly oxidized it didn’t detract too much from the overall experience. Not bad but way past prime I’ve got to assume. JMFG (1173), Florida, USA Aug 27, 2008 On tap @ Stone, RBSG. Amber color, thin white layer of head. Musky English hops, toasty malts, very light oak. Had an almost apple-like taste, English hops on the finish. Interesting beer. travita (762), Lewisville, Texas, USA Aug 18, 2008 On tap at the brewery. Red to brown in color and cloudy muddy like look to it. Decent light tan colored head. Aromas of some hops, spices, malts, and some oak. Taste has a nice balance, smooth, some bitternes and a good malty to toasty flavor. LilBeerDoctor (627), East Setauket, New York, USA Aug 15, 2008 Bottle courtesy of adrian910ss. Pours a murky red/brown with a small tan head. Aroma of raisin, dark fruit, with a slight hint of chocolate and roast. Flavor is lots of tootsie roll and chocolate malt, also raisin and cinnamon. Quite tasty! Only slightly past its prime, as the hops have faded. Praetorian (57), Los Angeles, California, USA Aug 13, 2008 Red-brown with a small head with very little lacing. The aroma is woody with a note of chocolate. The flavor is of bitter hops with notes of chocolate and oak. Bitter throughout. Creamy in texture. A good strong aggressive beer: I LOVE IT!
