This is an aggressive beer. You probably wonít like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2014 Thatís really an aggressive beer as itís written in its own label, right? So, if you are going to drink it, youíll need to be prepared to the experience. As a big fan of the Belgian beers, I have to admit that Americans have created a new horizon whenever theyíve started to overload their beer casks with hops. This is so far, the bitterer beer Iíve ever tasted and Iíve loved it. I really wish I could find something like this in Switzerland and I really regret that I didnít bring another bottle . with me... :( Despite of the advertisement in its cork, in the end, I think myself as a "worthy one" to drink it... Thatís very good stuff! I strongly recommend it to the strong ones. ;) A: Pours a deep amber a little bit hazy color. Head is beige and creamy. Medium retention and many lacings left S: Smells like an authentic American IPA. I mean, caramel malts and piny hops T: Great caramel malts and piny, citrus hoppy bitterness. Huge bitterness M: Medium molasses body. Good carbonation O: Absolutely refreshing, tasty, delicious beer [ BA Review @ 11/7/2009 ]

On tap, poured into a nonic glass. A light citrus aroma gives way to candy sugar, then a light coffee and light woody note comes through with some caramel late - some extra points for complexity. It pours a murky red brown color with a lught brown / orange colored head. Thr head consists of fuzzy microbubbles and retains a medium thick ring with dusty, fuzzy surface, and it leaves a decent web lace. The taste is medium high bitter and a medium sweet. The sticky and slick textured beer has a medium full body and soft, fuzzy carbonation. Flavors of burnt bread, pine, and grapefruit membrane come through initially with some light coffee and milk chocolate sneaking in late. A woody and smokey character finishes it amd a burnt / charred aftertaste - maybe some dark chocolate too - is strong and lingers with a touch of coffee grounds and a hint of fruit. Nice subtle complexities to this one.

Pours a dark chestnut coloured body with a medium head. Fresh hoppy aroma. Nice and hoppy taste. Starts like an IPA but without the bitter end. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Tilt, Oslo. Slightly hazy deep amber with an off-white head. Malty and caramelly aroma with lots of hops. Pine, citrus herbs and hints of cat piss. Fairly sweet with nice hoppy and fruity flavours and bitter finish. Balanced and very enjoyable. A bit too much on the sweet side for my taste, but still very nice!

Interesting aroma of malt, spices, floral, sugars and hops. Color of a dark ruby with disappearing white head. Medium bitterness and carbonation. Pine hop and floral hop start. Sugar/spice finish. Smooth.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle with a Best By date of 11/17/2014. Aroma is sweet with some nuttiness, moderate toasted bread, caramel and toffee. Moderate hop notes with pine resin and grapefruit. Light fruit esters. Pours a cloudy, copper, burnt amber with some brown hues and a small, light tan head that recedes fairly quickly to the edges. Medium light lacing and medium legs. Flavor has a light sweetness with some caramel and toasted bread with a light nuttiness. Light toffee notes as well. Moderately strong to strong bitterness. Medium light hop flavor, mostly pine resin but also some grapefruit. Some light alcohol notes. Mouthfeel is medium to medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright beer but way maltier than the hoppy beers I prefer to drink. Malt profile isnít too bad, and the hops work with it well. Is suppose for what it is, its pretty nice.
