Opaque black beer, decent brown head. Smooth palate with a little fine carbonation. Smooth dark malt, not roasty or bitter. Trace of coffee and a nice amount of aniseed. Finishes with tangy dark malt. Not bad but this experiment is lacking something to bring it all together.

Draught at Moeder Lambic, Fontainas, vintage 2011
Pitch black color, with creamy brownish head. Strong aroma, of liquorice and anise, followed by the roasted malt, and coffee. Roasted malt flavor, not aggressive, with the necessary mild sweetness; the liquorice/anise component blends well into this. Well brewed, but not with ingredients that I look for.
