At Chriso New Year 2011/12 tasting. Black beer lasting thick beige head. Aniseed on aroma. Yes too much aniseed some decent impy stout but ruined one of my favourite beers with the anise

the licorice is stronger in both the aroma and flavor, the extra sweetness of the licorice brings out more of the chocolate and pushed the coffee and bitterness into the background,

Bomber from Taylor’s Market in Sacramento, CA. Pours really brown/black with a pretty dark tan creamy/bubbly head. Damn! Aroma smells like liquorice, coffee and burnt malt. Whoosh! Full bodied. Creamy carbonation. It’s very, very smooth burnt malt with some sweet dark sugar/fruit background, but up front it’s really, really anise. Oak? Hints. This is really strong and imaginative. Or else somebody had a major accident. I have run out of things to say.
