Pour from Stone 14th Anny fest. Deep brown black color. Aromas of chocolate and wood. Rich silky smooth in your mouth. Full on dark chocolate flavors with coffee, vanilla, sweet malt, and bourbon. Roasty nutty quality. Very good and not too heavy. Could drink alot of this .

Served on tap at the Stone 14th Anniversary Celebration. Excited to see this on the list as well. The appearance is a rich velvety black with a thin burnt tan head. Noise is rich with chocolate and bourbon, very appetizing and pleasant. The flavors are full of rich bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, spicy oak, and a touch of rum. I think this was my favorite of the day. Absolutely wonderful.

Tasted on draft at Map Room. Pours jet black with a brown head. Sweet nose of molasses, bourbon, and chocolate. Flavors are very similar. The barrel seems to have mellowed this beer, but it has also nullified the bitter portion of the chocolate. It is extremely drinkable, but much lighter than I expect most stouts to be. The body and carbonation are both medium, and the finish is long, displaying the molasses more than anything else. This beer is very good, but the body is somewhat disappointing, and the beer has mellowed maybe a little too much.

UPDATED: OCT 4, 2010 Snifter at smallbar fulellerton... Pours a rich deep silky black with a thin khaki tan head... Nose is hugely barrel with vanilla and bourbon overtones... Flavors are a continuation of the same with a focus on the bourbon barrel with softer vanilla notes followed up by some bitter chocolate which extends through the finish with a combined sweetness. Can’t recall how this compares to the non ba version but this probably lost its essence by the barrel-aging. Thin to medium bodied. Not bad overall.

(bottle at RSRIZZO’s winter gathering on 1/13/10, provided by RSRIZZO). Black color. Small tan head. Moderate soy sauce aroma with light alcohol. Moderate chocolate flavor. Long duration. Light bitter and light alcohol finish. Slick texture. Soft carbonation. Spare lacing.

Big bourbon and chocolate aromas. Stout like malts with lots of extra goodies smooth with oats and deep chocolate flavors. This was a big bad ass brew.

Aroma is a Velvety dark chocolate smell, like fudge. A smooth mouthfeel with an alcohol burn to it. Flavors are of strong bourbon and chocolate. This is a beer that stood up to and demolished the blue cheese flavors lingering in my mouth post-cheese tray. This beer will kick you in the throat and scream "ALCOHOL!" at you, in a good way. Absolutely hit the limits of my tolerance for alcohol burn while still being enjoyable. Very powerful. Would have rated higher if apparently I was less of a pansy about this beer.

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2010 Tap at Brouwer’s Big Wood ’09. Black with a moderate brown head. Aroma is rich, velvety chocolate with a bit of toastiness. The bourbon flavor is quite powerful alongside the rich chocolate. The alcohol presence is noticable but welcome, and the whole experience is like drinking a bourbon filled chocolate candy. Very boozy, intense, and bittersweet. Yummy.

FoBAB 2009. Bourbon Chocolate! huge on the bitter chocolate. Poured a dark brown oily color with some tan head. Aroma of chocolate and wiskey. Taste is bitter sweet chocolate. Nice balace between this and the bourbon. Really nice.

draft @ Brouwer’s Stout Night to start SBW - jet black with trace tan head; tons of bourbon upfront on the nose with a trace of bitter chocolate; flavor wise it was more balanced with sticky texture and raw, bitter chocolate; pretty nice, but a little much on the bourbon and it didn’t really stand a chance next to the founders canadian
