Pours murky red/brown with a very thin, offwhite head, specks of lace. Smells great. Sweet and vanilla with some booze and a hint of wood on the nose. Tastes ok. Wood and sweet oxidation with some spicy hops. Wood flavor is funky. Kind of a mess. Medium body, subdued carbonation.

Bottle 355ml. Clear reddish mahogony with a frothy tan head. Musky aromas of roasted caramel, citrus, bourbon. Robust bodied with moderate carbonation. Intensely bitter, with a heavy alcohol finish. Impressive malt character and complexity. A fine ale.

Scopey (8789) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 28, 2015
Keg at BD Aberdeen. It pours clear ruby with a small off-white head. The nose is soft, woody, sweet bourbon, toffee, dark fruits, oily and fruit cake. The taste is smooth, rich woody action, leather, varnish, resinous, alcohol boost, oily and earth with a warming finish. Medium-full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Very, very woody. Not bad, but I had hoped for more....

Towey1989 (522) - Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 28, 2015
Keg at Brewdog Bristol. A clear amber colour with a thin beige head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, toffee, oak, some orange, toasty malt, slight liquorice and subtle cherry. Taste of bourbon, oak, vanilla, toasty malt, some liquorice, alcohol, some toffee, subtle fruits like raisin and cherry plus slight spicy orange. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. A sweet, malty finish with a warming, fruity aftertaste. This is delicious, little sweet but the warming bourbon and fruit flavours are great. Really enjoyed this.

Hazy deep amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Fluffy malts, light cream. Dark and slightly bitter toffee. Mild to medium Bourbon. Touches of bitter wookd and citric peel. Semi dry finish, strong bitter linger. A little on the bitter side but very drinkable.

Bottled at Akkurat, Stockholm Clear mahogany colour, creamy head. Caramelly grapefruit aroma with some pine and bourbon. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Piney and resiny with caramel underneath. Very bitter finish. Rather disharmonic.
