Growler. Clear golden with a creamy white head and champagne carbonation. Beautiful floral caramel, red wine, oak, vanilla, citrus, and apple aroma and taste with a sweet wine barrel finish and a light touch of tartness. Nice soft lively palate.

Cloudy glowing orange color. Very clean, light fragrant, soap like aroma. Surprisingly hop sourness. The wine pulls put and the grapes tartness, but still an underlying hop bitterness. Slight wood aftertaste.

Man is this a big improvement over the original. The use of red wine barrels lends a tartness that overcomes the originals cloying sweetness. Aroma is currants raspberries and a hint of blackberry with belgian esters, clove. taste is tart and sip-able. palate is tart and drying. By the time I was about to order my second the keg was tapped. REALLY good.

Fantastic beer, almost saison style aroma, the time in red wine barrels gives a fantastic flavour. Excellent. Drunk during a tasting with stone’s Greg . Memorable.

Pours a cloudy orange, with a reddish tint. Big red wine barrel on the nose, with a hint of Belgian yeast and hops. Flavor is very similar, nice red wine, and oak character. Hops are present, so is the yeast note, but the red wine is the star here.

Draft at the Stone Company Store in Pasadena. Slightly hazy dark yellow pour with a nice thick white head. Spicy nose with hints of oak and red fruit. Really nice taste, lots of hops some slight tannins in the finish. Pleasantly dry and bitter finish. If anything, I would like a bit more barrel character.

Kentucky Fried Charleston Trip Beer #109. Draft at Brewvival. Pours a clear vibrant copper color with a thin foamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of juicy citrus, herbal notes, mild wood and wine. The taste is tart wine, citrus hops, pale malt. Medium bodied.

stone tap takeover in tolland. Strong wine flavors balance with fruit esters and hops. Lots going on, tropical and dark fruits, all of them

Tap @ Stone O’Side. Golden, slightly hazy pour with a slick of white foam. Aroma is pleasant, vinuous grapes with light , dry malt and hop bitterness. Taste is lingering red wine with light grape tart, minimal yeast/clove, pepper, and a nice balance of sweet malt and piney hop bitterness into the finish. Clean, smooth mouthfeel. The red wine influence is much stronger in this beer than other red wine treatments I’ve had from Stone and it is very well done.
