Copper/brown pour with light white head...little more complex in taste than thier standard IPA not sure what causes that but its good. trayns (240), Beverly Hills, Michigan, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jul 30, 2009 Bomber. Pours a light golden color with a quick large white head. Aroma is large, with fruity yeast and hops being the most present. The taste is phenomenal. there is such a complex flavor of the hops and the big yeast character. It is almost a perfect balance of yeast and hops, as opposd to the usual malts and hops. This is quickly one of my favorites. It is a great twist on the IPA, there is the flavor and complexity of no other IPA. A wonderful drink all around. thooper41 (384), Oregon, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 28, 2009 Oregon Brew Fest: hazy light brown with white head, aroma just hops and malt, flavor pretty much just like their IPA with a little twist. still a great brew. Gachupines (290), USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 27, 2009 Appearance is a hazy yellow with a significant white head. Aroma is mostly hops but not intense. Flavor is also a bit of a subdued version of their IPA. There’s some sweetness in the finish, but I’d say this is more IPA than Belgian, but I think that’s by design. Overall, quite pleasant especially if you’d like a less intense version of the Stone IPA. jeffc666 (1889), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 26, 2009 I like this idea and others like it that I have had from other brewers, though this one fell a bit flat for me. Very fruity aroma with a more mild bit of yeastiness. Spices come through more in the flavor but hops dominate. I would have enjoyed a bit more of the Belgium side of the equation. clong83 (243), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 26, 2009 A more subdued version of the Stone IPA. But not really. Still packs a whallop of hops, and is dry and resiny, and bitter. Doesn’t seem too Belgian to me, but it is tempered with sweetness maybe just a tad more than the regular IPA. Pretty good. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 26, 2009 Draft. Pours a hazy gold with a small, foamy white head. The head has solid staying power. The nose is an interesting mix of hops featuring soap, oranges, yeast, and floral notes. Medium-high carbonation with a medium-light mouthfeel. The palate seems to be similar to the nose with a good dose of bittering hops thrown in. Floral notes, oranges, and yeast on the tongue. Some pineapple and fruitiness emerge as the beer warms. Medium-long finish with some lingering hop bitterness. For me this one was unique, but not as great as either might be alone. Sort of a 1+1=1.75. Papsoe (14883), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 25, 2009 On tap. Clear deep golden with a creamy off-white head that leave broad curtains of lacework. Aroma of yeast and fruit. Medium body, very fruity, some yeast. Late comes some citrusy hops that leave a dry finish with a light bitterness. A rare US/Belgo hybrid, that actually works. 070709
