Commercial Description:
When reading the name “Stone Cali-Belgique IPA”, “Cali” hints that it is a California style IPA, and this brew has an undeniable Belgian influence, indicated by the word “Belgique” (which is how Belgium’s French-speaking population says the word “Belgian”; the Dutch speaking Belgians say “Belgie”). We carefully selected a Belgian yeast strain that illuminates a fascinating new aspect of the beer that is otherwise quite simply Stone IPA.

The result is both completely new and different, while still being recognizable as a Stone Brew – and Stone IPA in particular. Think of it as an otherwise identical twin to Stone IPA that was raised in a Belgian culture. Literally.

Bottle from sparky27. Thanks E! Light yellow in color orange tint to it. Decent head. Sweet aroma of hops. Taste was a nice hop bitterness up front and an almost saison like beer towards the end. Spicy but clean and crisp. Kind of like 080808. Belgian (candy) yeast. Light in texture easy to drink but not watery. Good beer. Thanks Eric for sending this one my way!

Bomber at EVT. Beautiful, tight white head in an Allagash tulip. Aroma is an intoxcating banana yeast with just a mellow spiciness of lime and orange zest. Great head retention and lacing. Peppery spice is first noticeable with some sweet banana bread flavors. Decent stuff.

bottle. i could smell the citrus as soon as i popped the cap. looks beautiful. dark yellow dehydrated urine color with a thick frothed up white head. burnt yeast and lemons hit me first and make me smile. a slight scent of bananas in there also. oh yeah, that is a good bitter bite. banana flavor comes through more here. bubblegum yeast notes that i like paired with this high bitterness. grassy flavors are enjoyable. caramel sweetness and a bit thick. the yeast is really dominant in this. a touch of rubber, but not necessarily always a bad thing. sweaty bitter and enjoyable. i look forward to trying this with some chili and cornbread i made last night. 5 8 6 2 14

22 oz. bottle - Pours a clear orangish-golden color with a one finger thick off white head. Light lacing. Aroma is pine and grassy hops, light yeast, and esters. Flavor is sweet toasted malt, light esters, yeast, and herbal hops. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Fairly smooth on the palate. A nice beer.

A great and different beer. Im not too big on this whole "Belgian style IPA" thing, but this is good. Aroma was fantastic. Strong citrus and pine hops. Very full. Pour was a nice medium gold with a one finger off white head. Taste was very hoppy in the front. Grapefruit, pine and bitter until the sweet light fruit aftertaste comes in from the Belgian yeast. Ive been a homebrewer for about 4 months now and this beer shows me how big a difference a yeast strain can make in a beer. By the aroma I would think this was going to be a huge hop bomb. It starts out that was, but quickly brings in apricot and peach flavors . Nice and different. As it warms there is a big battle of bitter and sweet with the sweet overpowering.

bomber from marinos in toledo. hazy yellow pour with small white head. light citrus aroma. good thin to medium texture. overall this comes off as a hoppy bitter stone ipa that is knocked down a bit with the belgian yeast - not necessarily in a bad way though. light fruits, yeast, peppery, crisp bitter finish. good stone change up. K-8
