| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a nice tan head. Aroma is citrusy, with some lemon and light grapefruit as well as some hops. Seems like a mix between a Belgian and an IPA. Spicy notes as well. Sweet taste. Not much of a hops presence for an IPA. Some citrus notes as well as some pepper spice as well. Interesting beer idea from Stone. but I like it. leaparsons (4710), Leicester, Leicestershire, England
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 21, 2008 Bottle. Deep gold with a white head. Aromas are dry biscuit with lemon, apricot and yeast. Flavours are yeast and citrus with sweet apricot. Some melon with spices. Warming alcohol on the finish. Good. Lowe1983 (1029), Fairborn, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 21, 2008 Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is of citrus and pine hops with some caramel malts. Flavor is strong of citrus and pine hops with a hint of bubblegum and a little alcohol. The bubblegum flavor from the yeast is an interesting blend with the citrus and pine hops. Not a typical IPA but the belgium yeast makes this very interesting. mj (4999), Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 20, 2008 Bottle. Clear filtered yellow colored body with a white head. Musty sugared cannibus nose, some pine and grapefruit, tropical bubblegum, a little bit of musty urine (ethyl isobutyrate?) Sweaty green hop cones up front, sugared, crystalline, etc., lightly sweet, musty, etc. Body is a bit thin and watery, but overall this is a pleasant IPA with a mild (but somewhat artificial) Belgian character. robforbes (1085), Bremerton, Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 20, 2008 pours a clear pale orange with a small white head, great lacing.
smell is of peanut, spice, malt, a few hops, a touch of pine, and citrus.
taste is of sour malt, lots of hops, nuts, grassy, sweet fruits, and yeast, ends very bitter. SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 19, 2008 Clear golden-orange color pour with a nice foamy head that lasted a while and laced nicely. Sweet malt, fruit and sugar in the aroma, along with some good citrus hops. Flavor is good as well. Lots of fruit, malt and spice, followed by a nicely balanced hoppy finish. Smooth on the palate, with a dry spicy finish. Not the best Belgian-IPA, but not bad at all. Ernest (4483), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 18, 2008 Bottle.
Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing.
Body is clear medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (resin, grapefruit), trace yeast (cobwebs), with a note of alcohol (a bit fusel-like), light notes of gum and soap.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic.
Surprisingly dull...less hop aroma than I expected from this brewery (which would normally be a plus for me, but there’s not much else going on), and not much Belgian character either. Alcohol note is a bit rough. Flimsy, watery mouthfeel is exacerbated by the light carbonation. Filtered to hell...why?! Highly disappointing. My score is on the generous side, too. bgburdman9 (823), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 18, 2008 Aroma was of earthiness and some spices and a little citrus. Flavor has some slight yeastiness to it and some nice hoppiness also. Flavor was nicely bitter. Brings a lot of flavors to the table which is nice, new and refreshing but sometimes i just want a straight american hopped IPA. Very nice though.
