Commercial Description:
When reading the name “Stone Cali-Belgique IPA”, “Cali” hints that it is a California style IPA, and this brew has an undeniable Belgian influence, indicated by the word “Belgique” (which is how Belgium’s French-speaking population says the word “Belgian”; the Dutch speaking Belgians say “Belgie”). We carefully selected a Belgian yeast strain that illuminates a fascinating new aspect of the beer that is otherwise quite simply Stone IPA.

The result is both completely new and different, while still being recognizable as a Stone Brew – and Stone IPA in particular. Think of it as an otherwise identical twin to Stone IPA that was raised in a Belgian culture. Literally.

Clear orange golden pour with foamy bubbly white head. Grassy hops but also citrus and yeast. Reminded me of a thin tripel. Nice dry white peppery finish.

draft at stone world bistro - enjoyed immensely with a late morning breakfast and a perfect beer to go with a hangover, coffee and steak burrito; dark gold with slight haze, fluffy white head and steady stream of carbonation; intoxicating aromas of sweet hops, banana, and fruity yeast; drinks with a sweet yeasty, earthy cover to the hops, delightful in every way

Bottle shared by emacgee. Thanks Ethan. Pours an orange clear golden with a sudsy white lace. Nose of phenolic esters, hops, a bit of sweetness. Flavor is more of the same, with a rather thin mouth feel. Wish I could have tried a fresher bottle.

This poured a deep golden in color and had aromas of citrus, yeast, candi sugar and flowers. In the mouth it was medium-bodied with the hops showing through in the slightly dry finish.

Bottle: Interesting mix between a Belgian Ale and IPA, less hops punch with a heavier malt presence. Still better to keep the two styles separate.

Could not imagine how a person could not enjoy this beer. Was not sure how the belgian yeast would work with a strong IPA but this drink did a a great job of melding the best qualities of each style. Big fruity, belgian, hoppy nose with a strong malt profile and great hop lineup. Soft grapefruit and pine notes that are attenuated by the fruity, slightly spiced yeasty component. Convinced.

Bottle. Pours an orange color with a smaller, white head. Aromas of citrus and grapefruit are everywhere. Mouthfeel is oily and think with a nice duration of flavor. Grapefruit aftertaste is unique but overall an enjoyable beer.

22 oz bottle. Pours an extremely clear light copper with a white head. The aroma is dominated by the belgian ale yeast which is clovey, fruity with some citrusy American hops coming through. Flavor starts with a pale malty base then clove, banana, grapefruit/citrus and a tinge of something like cedar. Well-balanced and very drinkable, not that bitter actually. Has some lingering grapefruit hoppiness. Medium, quaffable body but I would have preferred more carbonation. Overall, enjoyable.
