When reading the name “Stone Cali-Belgique IPA”, “Cali” hints that it is a California style IPA, and this brew has an undeniable Belgian influence, indicated by the word “Belgique” (which is how Belgium’s French-speaking population says the word “Belgian”; the Dutch speaking Belgians say “Belgie”). We carefully selected a Belgian yeast strain that illuminates a fascinating new aspect of the beer that is otherwise quite simply Stone IPA.

The result is both completely new and different, while still being recognizable as a Stone Brew – and Stone IPA in particular. Think of it as an otherwise identical twin to Stone IPA that was raised in a Belgian culture. Literally.

Excellent brew, a good marriage of what you would expect in both the IPA and a Beligian. Pours slightly hazy gold with minimal head, the carbonation is crisp, aroma is floral, earthy, taste is citrus, smoke and bitter.

From a bottle. Pours amber. Aroma is typical Belgian-style. Taste is, again, reminiscent of a Belgian ale with a hint of banana. An alcohol finish. A good Belgian ale although I don't necessarily understand the "IPA" part of it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Phenomenal, absolutely phenomenal. I canít believe Iím just trying this one now. Aroma is a a big west coast IPA (a lot like Stone IPA...weird..) but theres also a nice spicy sweet aroma from the belgian yeast. Taste is really incredible. Itís dry and dank from the IPA, but has a nice sweetness from the belgian yeast. I really like this one compared to a lot of the other belgian IPAís because this one keeps that IPA taste and body and lets the belgian yeast compliment it. Itís actually really complex in my opinion and Stone can just make any IPA and make it amazing. Iíd keeping typing but I gotta get back to my beer. Cheers!

Far too busy. Get a lot of funk, yeast, banana and vanilla. Tartness and IPA bitterness. More Belgian than American ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It is trying to do way too much. I do not enjoy the mix of these styles even though I love them both by themselves.

Bottle from ipa sampler. Nose is hop and flower. Pours clean and light. Starts with dry hop taste then some floral and banana sweetness. Not bad but not amazing either. Like their other iPas better.

Bottle best by June 20, 2015.
Glass: Dogfish Head signature.
Appearance: Crystal clear vibrant amber body with a sparkling body. The head is frothy, a bit rocky, with a very light tan hue.
Aroma: The aroma is pleasant, a bit restrained though. Lemon is prominent with light yeasty phenols, sweet mango and apricot jump through on swirling with some honeydew as well.
Taste: Nice blend of light malts, honeydew, lemon, mango, peach, and orange zest along with notable peppery phenols. Dang this drinks great.
Palate: Full-bodied, moderately carbonated.
Overall: This is a surprise, I donít even generally like Belgian IPAs. This is a cut above any Iíve had, the yeast is restrained enough to not clash with the west coast hops. Dang.

On tap at BrewDog Dundee. Poured golden/amber with a white frothy head. Aromas of grass and slightly piney, with almost fruitiness about it. Tastes resiny, grassy, (maybe even a bit floral) with the feel of a Belgian ale. Absolutely blew me away!

650ml bottle at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki, courtesy of Konstantinos. Unclear golden color with off white head. Hoppy aroma, grassy, citrusy, light pine, light spicy and some yeasty notes when it gets warmer. Sweet, heavy bitter taste like aroma. Light to medium body oily with soft carbonation.
